I enjoy the fountain, it sit's on my porch... it's relaxing to hear the water although the sound in like coming off the roof into a puddle... it said to soften the sound to add more water but the opening in the back prevents you from adding too much. All and All I like the appearance and size for a small porch. It's all that I expected except the puddlely sound.

Love the fountain. However, it splashes a little from behind, but otherwise a great item.

it is very nice. probably not good for a small room as it echoes a bit.. but if you fill it wth more rocks it takes away some of the echo.. but use it outside and it works great. i do wish it had a switch rather that having to plug and unplug it every time.. but overall very nice.

Well, let me just say that I like this fountain but here are my thoughts:-too big for the area of my guest bath I had desired to put it-bigger than I thought it would be-easy, easy to setup-great color - true to what I saw on the website (I bought sage)-only real complaint is that it really should be maybe a small outdoor fountain. It was waaaaay too loud.I wanted a fountain for my guest bath downstairs. I have one of those bathrooms that is smack in the middle of my entrance hall under the stairs...right across from my dining room. I thought that having a water fountain in there would be good for sound muffling but wow...it was just so loud - no matter what I did. I added rocks, repositioned things, added big pebbles, put something inside the jar to keep it from being so loud, I used the +/- knob on the flow level thingy and nothing helped.I am sending it back tomorrow but it is a great fountain, if you have a place to put it that you like hearing a loud water fall.

Ordered this for my sister for her b-day and gave it to her yesterday. She loved it and within 5 minutes we had it up and running. Very good looking and seems to be made very well. Nothing seemed cheap or arrived broken. Overall I would highly suggest you buy this if you like water fountains and want a pottery looking thingie.

I have purchased many of these and give an overall five star rating. It is easy to put together and the relaxation and peace of mind that the moving water conjures up in your mind are priceless. A great addition to any room or garden.

I am very pleased with my fountain. I love the sound. I added a few of my own rocks & crystals instead of some of the stones that came with it. Its a beautiful addition.

I recently shopped my area for a fountain and found one just like this for twice the price. It works well and has a pleasing sound.

Nice fountain, smaller than I thought. No problems and enjoy the sound. Used distilled water and a pinch of bleach and there is no foul smell at all....no leaking either. Sometimes on start up the front will spill a drop or two. I like the fountian but is is expensive for what it is. It has put me too sleep several nights.

The fountain is nice looking and does what its supposed to do, but in looking at the design I can see why I was less than satisfied. When the water overflows from the top it falls straight down into the resorvior inside the vase. Rather than providing a relaxing & natural note, what one hears is a low & hollow sounding effect. Get a vase of your own [one with a small top opening would work best] and listen as you slowly fill it with a steady stream. If it turns out you like that, then enjoy. I was hoping for something more serene.

Very, very nice. Took a long time to find just the right fountain. This one is excellent, it has a very pleasing sound and presence. Brings a very nice feeling to the room.

The Kyoto Fountain is wonderful! I'm enjoying it here in my home office as I write this. It is strikingly attractive. It produces a soothing, relaxing sound as the bubbling water echoes inside the fountain. The light fragrance of bamboo reminds me of hikes I have made through bamboo forests in the mountains of Hawaii. Now that I think of it, the sound reminds me of a stream cascading over rocks. (I have not had any problem with the smell of the fountain after I washed it with soap. I think it had a protective coating of some kind. I mention this because other reviewers objected to the smell. The remedy is easy and well worth the effort.)

okay, so this item is actually pretty nice, but it could be cheaper. i have had it for about a month, and it has a bad odor to it. I am Asian(chinese and filipino), and it smells exactly like an import store in Chinatown....I am still waiting for the smell to go away. I have tried washing it and it still smells. I think its the bamboo. If I knew this I would not have bought it personally. They need to figure out some way to make it not smell like it does.

They blurb said garden fountain, when I got it, the instructions said "for indoor use only" - returned. I would recommend for indoor use, but obviously not for outdoor - what a disappointment.

Like the other reviewers, I had problems with water splashing out the back. Too bad, because the fountain is attractive in appearance.

Smell + spilled water + indoor use only = return. It was pretty but when I first opened the box, the chemical smell overwhelmed me. The smell did not go away even after washing/wiping down all of the parts. Once plugged in, it splashed water all over the floor (I think out of the opening in the back - it was not splashing from the top or the front opening where the water came out and dropped back in). Adjusting the water level did not help. If it had been suitable for use outside (the instructions say not to use it outside), I might have kept it.

Beautifully handcrafted; lovely soothing sound. Quality exceeds my expectations! I made sure that hose was securely in nipple at the top of the founatain and have had no problems with splashing water or the fountain being ?messy.?

I liked the looks of the table fountain but leaks water ... mostly out of the back.... There's splashing from the opening allowing the coard of the pump to reach the outside of the jug. Makes a mess.
