I purchased this refurbished model to replace my 15 year old Krups with similar features. I got a cheap Mr. Coffee as an emergency replacement and the coffee tasted terrible. I didn't really think I would be able to tell the difference. My new Krups makes great coffee. If you plan to use the timer functions, keep the directions handy -- you'll need them.
This is not your run of the mill Mr. Coffee. I bought it for the office. Makes a pot quickly and keeps it really hot. I pour a cup about every 2 hours and it never has a burned taste to it. It was refurbished and the only thing I noticed was that the top of the coffee carafe showed use. I haven't used the 1-3 cup option, which apparently makes less than a half pot that doesn't take a full pot worth of grounds and doesn't taste like water. I also haven't tried the automatic / timer pot. It is all plastic but I have quickly grown to love it. The grounds cup swings out, spring loaded when you hit the latch. It takes #4 cone filters or a stainless steel equivalent. It also has a replaceable internal filter. It doesn't grind the coffee. You can¿t adjust how long it keeps the coffee hot. But it costs about half as much as those do. A few silly things. You have to tip the top of the carafe to pour without drips. You have to close the ground hopper/door before putting the carafe back in. If you pour in more water than the 12 cups measured on the carafe, it will dump water on to the counter behind it.
I am waking up to the smell of fresh coffee every morning because it is programable. It also has a nice feature because one evening I forgot to put in water and it automatically shut down the next morning rather than the glass sitting on the burner.I do have a little concern with the very thin glass and where to buy the water filter. But all the other features are great and I will just have to be careful not to break the glass pitcher. As far as the filters if I can't find them it is not big deal since I have never had a filter on my coffee maker before.I love the black color and overall I am thrilled with this product and have told my friends about it. I never dreamed I could ever afford a Krup.
I really like this coffee maker and have used it for quite awhile. My only complaint is that it isn't easy to program, so I don't bother. But it makes great coffee and it stays hot and shuts off automatically after an hour or so. It also has a signal that chirps when the coffee is brewed and ready to drink. This signal doesn't require programming, so I like that.
This coffee maker brews quickly and is easy to clean. I ran out of filters for the water but found that it still runs fine without one. I enjoy extra strong coffee but it's nice to have different settings for friends who appreciate milder strengths.
I've only had this coffeemaker out of the box for a week and it's a disaster. Every morning, I put water in it and then a few minutes later there is a giant puddle in front of it. All the other reviews said that these refurbished coffeemakers were fine, but my advice is -- don't buy it. .
This was my first Overstock.com order. The entire process went very smoothly and the product , after approx. one month, has been satisfactory..
Easy to use, looks nice, and makes great coffee! Would recommend.
The Krups/ Rowenta FME214 12-cup Programmable Coffee Maker is great. The coffee it makes is great and very efficient as well as easy to use. I would highly recommend this coffee pot.
This is a great coffemaker. At first it's a little difficult to set clock, auto on, etc. but after a few fimes you'll have it mastered. Carafe can dribble a little bit. Makes wonderful coffee. I have 3.
Being my age, gulp, and not a coffee drinker until now I was more than apprehensive about purchasing a coffee maker. This is so easy to use, so stylish and fits right into the rest of my decor in the kitchen. Even my teenage son has no problems using it. I love it, don't know how I ever lived without it, and would recommend it to anyone and everyone!!!
I had no trouble with this order. The delivery was quick and the coffee pot works great.
This coffeemaker gets my five star rating simply because it makes the hottest coffee of any of the many brewers I've tried!! It's pricey for the plastic-y construction, and the pot seems to dribble when you pour the first cup (or am I just clumsy?), but if it makes a steaming cup of great coffee for its whole [long] life span, it will retain 5-star status ;o)
Could not tell it was refurbised. So far, it seems to be working well and making a good pot of coffee.
I've had the worst time with coffee makers, used 3 different types in this year alone, but i'm very happy with this one....it brews so fast, and the coffee has a nice taste.....i'm just a bit concerned with the glass pot, very thin!
This was a replacement for a much older Krups coffeemaker that I loved. So, not too fancy, not too plain, not too expensive, works great, looks good. Just right.
I bought this as a refurbished model but fine no faults. Great cup of coffee.
