a good start
Within our budget and function requirement, we finally chose Krups based on many customers' review. We are happy with it so far. Although we did read some negative points on this model - it hasn't been an issue for us. We didn't notice any uneven toasting (which is just the same as any other toasters we have used previously). Some reviews said it's too slow - well I am normally multitasking while the toasters on so it really is noticeable.We particularly like the lever which lifts small waffles or English muffins up, the defrost works well as well.

THis toaster was purchased after browsing for recommended 4-slice toasters. It is located at my second home and is only used a couple of times a week. It went totally dead--nothing works. Like a previous review I believe the issue is electrical. I AM EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED WITH THIS PRODUCT AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT.

Broken in 6 months
Neither of the 2 handles will stay in the down position. I took the toaster apart. It is an electrical switch problem, rather than mechanical. What a waste, thinking paying top dollar would bring reliability.

Not worth the money
After extensive searching for the perfect toaster, I broke down and decided to pay the money for the Krups. This toaster takes a long time to toast your bread and leaves lines on the toast. It browns the top of the bread but not the bottom. So you get unevenly toasted, striped bread. I even sent the first toaster back thinking I got a lemon. No. The new one is exactly the same.
