This is a good machine and definitely keeps my bedroom cool. It is a little tricky to put in the window, attach the expandable tube, connect the tube to the air conditioner. But I've had no leaks and I'm always cool - especially when our condo management company doesn't turn on the air conditioning until May 1st unless it's extremely hot.

Fairly quiet, cools quickly was shipped quickly. My only gripe is the flimsy carbon filters are very pricey. The remote is quite handy to shut down during phone calls. Sure beats sitting in a hot office!
This is a great Portable A/C for the money. Small enough to store away in the hall closet when you aren't using it, but kicks out the cooling BTU's in a medium sized room when you need it. I especially like the fact that you can set it up near a window and have it cooling your room in about 2 minutes. I liked it so much I bought another one for my daughter!
The unit is not large. It can fit easily in any place . Easy to install the exhaust extension . Moderate noise, very small remote.
This is exactly what I was looking for. It is temporary, and fit nice into my left to right sliding window with the help of some foam that I bought at Lowes. The fan is loud, but we like the noise to sleep with. Easy to install. There are some parts to put together, but it was easy with the help of another person. I like the small size, as other units are very deep and bulky. Will not cool a livingroom, but perfect for a small to medium size bedroom. Mine has a small crack in the plastic housing, but not big enough to repack and send back.
I live in the Pacific Northwest and it rarely gets hot in the way Texas or Nevada does, so it doesn't make a lot of sense to have a fully air-conditioned house. This unit is nice because it can cool down a single large bedroom for a week, then be easily stored in the back of a closet for the rest of the year. I prefer this style of air conditioner to a window-mounted unit because apartments typically won't let you install something in a window. The unit can be a little noisy - I'd compare it to a box fan on low. It's not deafening, nor do you have to raise your voice to talk around it, but it could disturb a light sleeper.
This is the cheapest portable air condition out there right now. If you find anything cheaper, it's probably an air cooler and not a true A/C. It's fairly simple and straightforward. But it's the best deal for the price. Most settings have to be done through the remote, which is a shame, so don't lose it!I just needed it to cool my bedroom and it does the job to my satisfaction. The lowest I can get the temperature in my room at coldest setting (62 degrees) is around 68-70 degrees for an average bedroom. I've never seen the temperature in my room go any lower. But still, this is a life saver for this hot humid summer. After a half hour, my room is at a comfortable temperature. I run it every single day.I love that I never have to drain it on A/C because the system evaporates the water buildup and releases it out the window. So here are the positives:1)dehumidifier, A/C and fan all in one.2)Inexpensive3)very easy to use.4)water waste is evaporated (no drainage)negatives:1)loud. I can sleep through it, but it's not for light sleepers2)timer is not a true timer. (you can't set it from, say, 2:00 to 4:00pm. Instead, you set the number of hours that pass before it comes on (active for 1 hour).3) energy efficient even though there is no energy star rating.Overall, this is my favorite big purchase. Totally worth the money.
Have been using the unit for about 2 weeks now... so far so good... it cools the 100 sq foot master bedroom as promised... it's been close to 100 degrees here in Southern California and this AC keeps us comfortable all day and thru the night...
It works pretty well. I would say a window unit works better. The window exhaust kit is pretty flimsy and since the unit needs to be fairly close to the window I suggest getting a window unit, it is cheaper and more effective. IF that isn't an option then this works, okay. I turn it on about an hour before I intend to use the room it's in so that it can start to get things cool.
