DO NOT BUY THIS MODEL! This processor had a lot of promise...when it worked. We went through 3 of these (!), having returned 2. One was replaced by Overstock and the second faulty processor, by KitchenAid. The blade mechanism has to be pressed down so that you hear a click and The top lid was always difficult to twist off. What always ended up happening, was the blade stopped rotating, and by the 3rd processor we knew to press it all the way down, because it can seem as if it's completely down, when it's actually not. While the vendor and KitchenAid were both very nice in replacing 2 of these processors, I tried to explain to KitchenAid that there were serious flaws with this machine. One of the KA customer service people I spoke with, said I shouldn't be chopping meat with this. I read her the instructions from the booklet which contradicted that-- kind of hard to negate something that's in their own instruction book. Anyway, this third processor bit the dust in less than 5 months....same exact problem. There is a serious design flaw with this model and KitchenAid needs to realize this and either scrap this model completely or fix the bloody problem!
Very large base is my only dislike. Love all the options and seems to have great power as it has screamed right through everything I have thrown at it so far. The color is very pleasing, matches stainless steel appliances, not too silver and yet not brown either. Also really like the storage case for all the blades. This refurbished processor was the best deal I've seen anywhere hands down.
