I've been baking a long time. My first pro mixer was an old Hobart I used at my bakery. At home over the years it was a Sunbeam Heritage. And now, FINALLY I have my Empire Red Kitchen Aid mixer! I was going to go for the pro lift bowl, but opted for the Artisan tilt head mixer. I am glad I did. I find it much easier to use and change attachments. Best part??? The price!!! Unbelievable great deal. Refurbished model, but arrived boxed by KA and shiny as a brand new penny! No one would know it was refurbished! Thank you Overstock!

I was so excited to receive this item as i have always wanted an Kitchenaid Artisan mixer. Being in the uk i expected delivery to takes ages, but it arrived in around 10 working days! You would think the mixer was brand new, you cant even tell its a refurbished model apart from one tiny scuff on the side. As UK voltage is not the same as US i have to use my mixer with a 500watt step down converter, i was worried that doing so would affect how fast the machine would work and also cause it to over heat, but i have used it on a few occasions on the highest speed and had no probelms at all. UK byers should definitely make sure they buy the correct converter before use though!! All in all a great product and great service, i would definitely buy it and use overstock again!

I received my mixer in a KitchenAid box and lugged it home. Once I took it out of the box, all I could see was the shiny stainless steel bowl, the attachments and the mixer itself. Once you get use to the weight of the mixer, life becomes beautiful. I definitely plan to buy a couple more mixers and warranties in the very near future. I have wanted a Kitchen Aid mixer for years but couldn't justify the price. This past winter, while being a 'snow bird' in AZ, I used my cousin's Kitchen Aid mixer many times and knew I must have one. I found the refurbished red ones on Overstock, and after reading all the positive reviews, went a head and ordered. I am so thrilled because it works perfectly and looks better than new. The KitchenAid mixer I purchased works great and I was very pleased with the price - all the attachments were delivered and I was amazed how quickly it was shipped. I spoke to Tina at customer service before the purchase and was amazed by how quickly and efficiently she answered my questions. Because of her I made the decision to purchase the mixer. Although it has only been used it once on Mothers Day, it appears to work like a charm. It was refurbished but there is not a flaw on it..looks like brand new. It did splatter since I was making a large batch. Like many other reviewers, I will be looking for a splash guard.

I purchased this mixer after doing alot of research and reading all of the reviews. I had it sent to my son-in-law as a gift, and he was super excited to receive it quickly and used it immediately. I had just gotten one from another online store for myself, and was pleased with how easy and wonderful the Kitchenaid mixers are. He felt the same way, but suddenly, on day 3 of using it, smoke began to come out of the mixer and a horrible noise as well. I immediately contacted Overstock and was very pleased that the customer service guy offered to have it picked up from them right away and he offered to find me a comparable one on the site. After finding one for more money (but still refurbished) he issued me a credit, which brought down the price to near what I paid for this one. Service was prompt, the new mixer was delivered within a few days and my account was credited. I am hoping the replacement mixer stands up to use and does not cause a fire hazard as the first one did. Considering this was a gift, it was very frustrating and extremely embarrassing for me.

The exterior looks brand new-you can't tell that it is refurbished. The motor works fine, but sometimes it gives a slight grinding noise. Nonetheless it works properly, and since I got the platinum service I will continue to use it and see how it goes. Will update if anything changes.

I was nervous about ordering a refurbished stand mixer, but the mixer I received has no signs of use or wear. It was absolutely worth it to save money by going the refurbished route. So far I've made a stiff dough for bagels, oatmeal cookies and banana bread in this mixer. Yes, you could make any of these things completely by hand or with a hand mixer, but it really is MUCH quicker and easier to use the stand mixer. The bagel dough was very "bucky" so I made sure to keep an eye on the mixer as it caused it to move around a little. I've heard horror stories of these "walking" off the counter when mixing a really stiff dough. If you are mainly going to use a stand mixer for very stiff bread dough, then I would recommend going for a professional version with a more powerful motor and a bowl-lift mechanism instead of the tilt-head. This model is perfect for my needs.
