I have wanted a KitchenAid stand mixer for as many years as I can remember them being around. I had done quite a bit of research into which model I would prefer and put my request in to my husband. These stand mixers are pricey and I heard about Overstock.com having refurbished models at a nice discounted rate. When comparing prices, we found that Overstock.com had the BEST price available. The item arrived in less than the expected time and had a single smudge near the base, otherwise it was in perfect condition! It has become a fixture on my kitchen counter. It allowed me to bake DOZENS of cookies for my family for Christmas gifts with no effort at all! I ADORE this small appliance. Thank you Overstock.com for helping my husband make my KitchenAid dream come true!

My daughter was thrilled with this mixer for Christmas! It was delivered in a timely manner, securely packaged. The color was true to the photo and the price was competitive. I shop Overstock.com all the time and will continue to do so!
I bought this refurbished not wanting to spend too much money. I was nervous it would be of lesser quality, but I have used it the last three weeks to make bread about four times and it has worked great. The color is darker than the picture would indicate--it seems almost black, but that doesn't bother me. I just wanted a solid mixer.
First, I bought refurbished. I have done this before with KitchenAid and it's like buying a brand new machine. I wonder if this wasn't just a "second" at the factory due to a tiny little smudge the size of half a toenail on the base paint. I am about to buy a refurbished KitchenAid blender, also. Context - I have two homes. Both kitchens are fully kitted-out and usable. They weren't both equipped at the highest level but now are with new KitchenAid "stuff." This mixer is replacing an original KitchenAid 5 quart bought in 1982 (so old it has a *** label on it at the bottom of the stand). That mixer needed some maintenance that no authorized dealer could do - too old, they don't know how to work on it anymore evidently. The entire assembly inside the head had evidently dropped a tiny bit and the beaters were whacking the bottom of the bowl fiercely. Sadly, I had to replace it after thousands of hours of use - a real workhorse. I admit it - I bought this one for the color! I wanted a cobalt blue car and this was cheaper. :) I also bought the tilt head instead of the bowl lift type - I have only had two of the lift-type KitchenAid mixers and like that setup. But I did not want giant bowls; I wanted 5 quart. This was it. Getting used to the tilt head was easy enough and it's the same "engine" as the other mixers. All my accessories fit on this, of course, except an ancient colander and sieve that sits on top of the bowl (applesauce maker!). This machine runs like a charm. I expect to have it decades like my other two KitchenAid mixers (my second one is in my second home). And the cobalt blue is gorgeous!!!!
