Can't say enough good about this processor...refurbished, yet is brand new in every way; extremely powerful (I'm having to get used to how much faster it is than my 18+ yr old Quisinart), surprisingly quiet; so much easier to attach and detach bowls. I contacted the KitchenAid customer support site before making the purchase with questions about their different models, and as I've always found, they were most helpful. My husband was impressed with the weight and quiet operation and deemed it a 'serious piece of machinery' :> The only drawback I can see is if you don't have much counter/storage space...seems about twice the size of my DL10 Quisinart, but then, it's more than twice the processor. For extremely serious cooks that frequently reach for the processor, this is the one...or the model that has the 3 bowls. I searched and searched once I decided which one I wanted, and no other site could come close to the price I found here...esp. since it is so heavy and shipping costs were outrageous on other sites.

I had been looking for this model because America Test Kitchen had rated it so high. Found out it was discontinued. Overstock still had 2 left in the refurbished area. I have never bought that type, but was super pleased with the results. It really did seem like brand new as everyone else had said. The new model had a gigantic foot print and was too large for my counter top area. This one is perfect.. Decided I did not need the features of the new model that slices in variable thickness with out changing a blade. The price was outstanding and the shipping was $1, can't beat that. I had looked for quite a while and this fit all my needs.

This is a refurbished model, and It is like new. It has more gadgets and blades than I even need. I am very pleased with it's performance.

I bought the food processor as a Christmas present. This model was recommended in Consumer Reports and it works as advertised. It is powerful and can handle both small (due to the inner bowl) and big jobs.

I have wanted one of these for a long time and the price was right here on Overstock. It came quickly and well packed. I have only used it a couple of times so far but have been very pleased. It really feels like a quality machine. I look forward to many years of service from this item.

I bought this for mostly chopping I create a lot of raw foods that require tons of chopping. This machine chops crazy fast and is quiet too. In no time at all it grinds nuts into flour With onions just a few pulses and I've got finely chopped onions. The grater works great too and I like the three different size feed tubes to accommodate anything from a single carrot to a large wedge of cabbage. I have no regrets purchasing a refurbished machine. I saved a lot and the machine works and looks like it is brand new. I also love the tool organizer that came with it, everything is neatly stored away. The small chopping bowl is great too. I used it to make a rosemary basil pesto, and its easy to get everything out of the bowl and super easy to clean. Now we just have to remodel our kitchen so I can leave it out on the counter next to my other favorite kitchen tool a high tec blender.

First the Kitchen Aid brand = quality. That said the first time I used the processor I expected noise. Was I ever wrong. This processor is quiet in comparrison to a regular hand mixer, but it is very powerful and makes short work of the job. The unit never overheated. I am an avid cook and have used this many times so far for different things including dough and it's's all good. One of the features I like the most is a mini processor is included for small batches. Yes this would be a great buy for any person who needs to reduce ther prep time or just likes to cook a lot. If you have been on the fence because a new unit is much more money then buy the refurb unit you wont be sorry and save considerable money and still be happy. If you want something to hold up and last a long time this is the brand.

This purchase was to replace my food processor from 1983. What a difference. This is a refurbished model, but works and looks fine. All the pieces and owner's manual were included; just like a new unit. I researched before making this "luxury" purchase and Kitchenaid got many favorable reviews. I have made almost every recipe from the owner's manual and liked all but one. The small bowl seems to allow some food to get into the large bowl; this only matters if you care to use both bowls without washing between uses. The storage container is convenient and looks to have space for additional pieces.
