  • KitchenAid Stand Mixer Poor Quality

    At one time I believed that KitchenAid was a great brand, but now, I am very disappointed at the quality of KitchenAid mixers. I just replaced a KitchenAid mixer that I have had for 25 years. The one I replaced was a 250 watt mixer. I just purchased the 325 watt mixer thinking that this mixer would be "even better" than the one I had. . . NOT SO! The new 325 watt KitchenAid that I just purchased complains about mixing cookie dough. I also make my own pasta and have the pasta maker attachment for my KitchenAid. Pretty much, this mixer is not up to the task of mixing pasta dough. This mixer gets a little bit frazzled about mixing bread dough for 1 loaf of bread. Recently, when we were processing our wild game and wanted to use the grinder attachment to grind the meat for the sausage, this mixer flat refused to do that project! I ended up at a butcher shop with meat and pig fat in hand asking them to grind it for me. My old 250 watt KitchenAid was 10 times the machine that this newer one is! My old KitchenAid did everything I ever wanted to do with it. Unfortunately, it died of a broken gear! :-( This mixer looks nice, but doesn't seem to really be put together well. I have the tilt head model and when the head is down and locked into place and is mixing bread or a stiff batter the head jolts and clanks like it might just fall off! Also, as the mixer churns it squeaks like it just needs a good oiling. I have had this machine for just a month now. I feel less like I have made an "investment" and more like I have just wasted my money!
