Excellent product - high quality and relatively quiet for a coffee grinder. Highly recommend. Grinder settings are useful, but I have only used to grind beans for use in drip and French press coffee makers - have not ground beans for use in making expresso. The only minor negative is that removing the glass ground coffee container results in some spillage of retained grounds from the mill onto the counter. Overstock's price was best and delivery was prompt without problems. Highly recommend.Read More
Didn't realize that it would make a difference in grinding your own coffee or buying pre-ground. It tastes better and I can do just what I need for a few days so it stays fresh. The product is easy to operate and I have had no problems with it.Read More
Oh for joy - no more boulders and dust! I love French press coffee but most grinders just can't give the consistent grind required for a good, clean cup. Forget bladde grinders entirely - keep them for spices and seeds. I found one or two cheaper burr grinders that were tolerable, but they would either overheat or still give you a lot of dust. Now I expect a small amount of 'sludge' from a press pot, but this grinder eliminated it almost completely. My next Kitchenaid appliance is going to be an espresso maker, so that I can take advantage of this machine's full potential. Oh and did I mention... It's beautiful, too!Read More
Very good mill, fairly quiet and even grind. The price was right on OSC.Read More
I have only owned two other coffee mills and this KitchenAid is head and shoulders above them in quality. The grind is perfect at 7.5 for espresso and the machine is quiet compared to my other mills and it doesn't clog like my last unit. There is no plastic and the glass jar cleans up perfectly and is easy to remove the grounds with a spoon or scoop. I appreciate the build of this machine.Read More
Gets the job done and that is about it. It delivers the same size grind no matter what the selection is. Disappointed over all.Read More
Gets beans nice a coarse for French Press. Too many grinders don't have coarse enough settings.Read More
KitchenAid products are 'da bomb' - I have the stand mixer and can't manage without it. My fridge is this brand as well, so the coffee grinder was a given since my previous burr grinder gave out and the ordinary small brand grinders give out in no time. The KitchenAid coffee grinder performs by grinding the beans to the finest powder for maximum coffee taste. Good job KitchenAid!Read More
This is a great grinder. It has a very good motor and you can tell you have a heavy duty piece of equipment. It is quiet compare to other grinders I have owned. I use it for regular drip coffee and it's probably a little bit of overkill. It looks great next to my Moccamaster. The only negative is that you cannot dial up the number of cups. Since I make 40 ounces every morning, I solved the problem by using a timer to figure out how long to grind. Slight inconvenience but well worth itRead More
I have owned many coffee grinders over the years and this is the best of the lot. By using glass I have experienced zero static cling and no mess at all... The grinder is very heavy duty and has a commercial look and feel, which I like! It is heavy, due to the commercial motor, and does take up about the same counter space as my coffee maker. So if size or weight of the unit is a limitation then this unit is probably not for you. Personally I would make room for it, no matter what the space requirements are, In reading other reviews before purchasing this grinder, most people complained about the grind being too course. This can be easily adjusted by reading the manual and being able to use simple hand tools (screwdriver)... My coffee maker is adjusted just fine for a drip coffee maker, but if you want espresso grind, then you will need to adjust the grinder for a finer grind. If you typically call a handyman to change light bulbs in your table lamps, then again this grinder is not for you. If you buy this grinder and do not know the grind needed for your coffee maker, then I would suggest that you grind a tablespoon full of coffee on each setting and then compare it to your preferred pre-ground coffee to get the best match and then use that setting on the grinder. Remember that a too fine grind will clog the filter and cause your filter basket to overflow. So with all of that said, I will state for the record that I LOVE MY KitchenAid Pro Line Burr Coffee Mill (KPCG100OB)Read More
