Disappointed

live2run Feb 6, 2010

Very disappointed with product. I have to constantly tap beans down so it will grind properly. Also, glass is very thin - broke glass when a towel hit it as I was cleaning the counter. Too much money for the product to not work as designed.

KitchenAid Burr Coffee Grinder

susyc07 from New Mexico, Jan 3, 2010

The use of the KitchenAid KPCG100NP Nickel Pearl Pro Line Burr Coffee Grinder has noticeably improved our coffee drinking experience. The coffee is stronger but not bitter using the same amount of beans we used to grind with our old blade grinder. We have also begun using a new Technivorm Moccamaster drip coffee maker, and in making these two changes feel that we have reached the pinnacle of effective coffee making! We expect to be using our KitchenAid KPCG100NP Nickel Pearl Pro Line Burr Coffee Grinder for years to come--we still have a KitchenAid mixer from the 50's that still works just beautifully--and expect to have to list the KitchenAid KPCG100NP Nickel Pearl Pro Line Burr Coffee Grinder in our will to leave to a deserving coffee freak relative or friend. It is a little large for our small kitchen, but well worth the space it takes up.

Love it love it love it.

It's a little pricier than other mid range burr grinders, but the old saying "you get what you pay for" rings true with the one. If any of you have a kitchen aid stand mixer then you know about the quality of materials and workmanship that go into them. This grinder is the same way. It's solid, heavy, and grinds consistent. It looks nice on a counter top too in a retro sort of way. Would definitely recommend. Oh, and to all the complaints I heard out there about the glass feeling "light" . . . it's glass. True it could be heavier, but how many times have you drank out of a water glass without dropping and breaking it? This is a non-issue for me.

Finally!

coffeegirl22 Nov 19, 2009

So for years I listened to my little whirligig grinder turn great coffee beans into dust and bitter java. Not bad java - just a little bitter. Finally it got to RIP after shooting the blade out of its holder. What can ya expect after over 10 years.Spent tons of time reading reviews finally decided on the tank made by KA. Have always been happy w their other products. Delivered promptly and it works exactly as advertised. Surprised at how quiet it is, way quieter than the old one and grounds are very uniform w/ no dust in sight. And what a surprise when the coffee tasted better. Now of course I want a good espresso machine to really put this grinder through its paces.Very good quality. Yeah the holder at the bottom is a little thin but so don't drop it. Fits perfectly under the head. There is nary a sign of static. None! Have cleaned it once and that too is a snap. I don't store beans in top and suggest that you just grind as you go and keep the coffee in a cool dark place till needed. The directions are very thorough. The price was right and I am very happy.P.S. No I do not work for KA or OStock. Just a happy customer.
