I got this to avoid kneading bread by hand mostly. Since I got it, I've made oatmeal cookies, coconut bread, bagels, white bread, whole wheat bread, and (most delicious of them all) a soft whole wheat bread. So clearly it's adequate. However, I have two caveats: - the fact that it's bowl lift instead of head tilt makes it harder to put in or take out one of the mixer attachments without pulling ingredients out of the bowl, and in general makes using the machine messier - you have to watch this while kneading, even if it's only enough flour for one loaf, because the bowl can jump off its restraints (this is ridiculous but true) and you'll have to quickly stop the machine so the hook doesn't scratch the bowl or friction won't damage the motor.

I bought this as a gift for my husband who loves to cook and bake bread. It is a replacement for my 17 year old smaller version Kitchen Aid. Makes the best bakes light and airy and the dough hook is amazing on this mixer. The red is just what he wanted and lookes awesome in its new home. This mixer looks so good in my kitchen. I have baked bread twice with it. I think it will last a very long time. Don't be fooled by cheaper models with plastic gears. Get the heavy duty one. This was the best price anywhere. Now I don't even shop around.

Love my mixer! Got the mixer as promised but had problems with it which were not Overstocks fault. Kitchenaid sent them a subpar product and I received it. After a month of going back and forth with Kitchenaid over it I finally received my new mixer (after Christmas, I ordered it at Thanksgiving to make Christmas cookies). I love this machine... it has handled everything I've thrown at it so far... works great for large batches... smaller batches are a little tricky... the paddle doesn't quite reach down into smaller ingredient volumes, but if you speed up the mixer it seems to get to them somehow.

I was searching for a kitchenaid stand mixer, but in belgium they are really expensive. So I looked for one on the internet and I came out to the Overstock website, wich was practically the only one that shipped to belgium from the US.I only found one other that also shipped to belgium, but they were a little bit sheaper in the product but more expensive in the shipping so the best deal was with Overstock. It was easy and correct to order and pay and the shipping was very fast. ( about a week from the US to belgium). The kitchenaid itself was just fantastic. The machine works at 110V and in belgium the current is 230V so I bought a transformer and it works perfectly. Already baked a lot of muffins, breads and made some icecream with the icecreammaker and everything goes so easy. I'm very happy with it and it will go on for many years. Kurt.

I cannot say enough about the service that Overstock paid to my order. There was a question since UPS did not show that they had picked up the order, but it arrived just as promised. This was a UPS problem and not one of Overstock. I am well pleased with how Overstock handled my question.
