This coffeemaker makes terrible coffee. The design of the lid is really stupid. Although the site says it is made in America, it is not, IT IS MADE IN CHINA! Stay away from this coffeemaker!

Great Coffee Maker
I wanted a thermal carafe coffee maker that wasn't too tall and would fit under my kitchen cabinets. This fits perfectly. It keeps the coffee warmer for much longer than the coffee maker I replaced. I also really like that it has a filter in the water well. It makes excellent coffee and looks very attractive. What more could you ask for? I make a lot of purchases with Overstock and I highly recommend them - best prices and A number one service!!

No spill pot!
I have looked for years for a coffeemaker that won't spill all over the counter when you pour a cup. Now-a-days all the carafes are so pointed or squared off the coffee has no where to go but out the sides. This pot is GREAT--no spill AND keeps it hot without the burner burning the bottom, so no bitter taste in the last cup! The lid was broken when I rec'd it, but KitchenAid sent a whole new carafe and lid and I am estatic with this! I HIGHLY recommend this pot to anyone!

Great Coffee Maker
This is a fine coffee maker. Not sure what some of the other reviews were referring to -- have had no problems with it. It brews a hot cup of coffee, and works "as advertised." The caraffe does have a unique open/close on the lid -- maybe some of the people who have complained of the coffee not being hot are not closing the lid on the caraffe -- don't know. It's got a sleek design, and is easy to load (both coffee and water). It like the fact that it's a 12 cup also -- not too many out there at this price that can brew up 12 full cups of coffee. The programming does require reading the manual - not extremely intuitive, but doesn't require an advanced degree in engineering either.

BIG MISTAKE!!
I was so excited to get my new kitchen aid coffe maker... I did read the reviews before I bought and they were mixed from bad to excellent...so I took a chance.. first the power source didn't come on finally it did but was very difficult to program.. I made a pot of coffee and it wasn't as hot I as I thought it should be but the final straw came when I set it to brew on auto.. to my surprise I woke to a floor full of water that had leaked from the removable basket... giving it one more chance I prepared it to brew and when i came back it was leaking!!!
