After owning several other KitchenAid products, I decided to give this coffee maker a try. Sorry to say, I was disappointed with this appliance. Here are the issues: The door to access the coffee filter is flimsy and somewhat difficult to snap shut. In fact, I leave it half open most of the time because of this. I'm waiting for it to break off. Rear access to the water reservoir means I'm always turning it around to pour the water in. A front or side load reservoir would be better. The lid to the water reservoir won't stay open when you're pouring in the water. Always falling down as you're doing it, so you have to hold it open by hand. Stupid design. The black finish on the burner is already discolored with the finish flaking off, after just a couple of months. This area needs a durable finish and it's annoying to have black paint flecks on the bottom of the carafe and on the countertop just because a poor quality finish was used. Eventually this area will rust and the thing will have to be thrown out.
