They are very pretty, but the handles are slippery! Also if you happen to soak the knife, the red painted handle it will start to flake off. They are not very safe, as you need to have a firm grip, rather than a slippery grip, when you are cutting. As KitchenAid states, make sure you wash and dry right away, without soaking in water. Save your money to buy knives with better grip handles. So if you rarely cook, and just want something red on your counter, they're ok.
