This item is a must in any kitchen, especially those messy broken eggs dripping all over your hands, spilled items in refrigerator, or just the general kitchen disasters that require two hands to transport the soaked various items to the nearest recepticle. Easy open lid without use of manual assistance. Can't count the number of times I've been in that very situation....especially when the grandkids are visiting on holidays and summer vacation. Large capacity, a breeze to clean, chic, attractive design. Does take 8 D cell batteries, but last set lasted nearly two years, so really not a cost consideration. This isn't a cook item, but no cook should be without it, saves lots of cleanup time and keeps choice words in check following a food flub! This is my second auto open trash/garbage recepticle, now I have one in the garage as well as in the kitchen----about time too, kept waving my hand, foot, other items by the lid of the plastic can and nothing happened, then realized it was just that - plastic manual can, now I'm all set for indoor trash as well as outdoor debris in garage as well as in the kitchen. Highly recommend.

I bought my electric salt and pepper grinders just in time for the Thanksgiving holidays and boy was it a blessing. I love spicy foods and flavorful foods and these grinders may my holiday cooking such a joy. I like to create and use my own spice rubs and rub blends and therefore I find myself doing a lot of grinding especially for the holidays. My Kalorik grinders my my life that more easier this holiday and as a result I will be purchasing some as gift for others this Christmas.

My friend has this trash can and loved it. I was always impressed that I didn't have to touch it, especially when you are cooking and getting rid of waste. The trash can lids stays clean and I don't have to wash my hands constantly as I prep cook and eliminate food waste. So I decided to find me a touchless stainless steel trash can. Of course I went to Overstock and what a wonderful surprise ...they had the exact same model available that my friend owned. Of course I bought it with no reservations. It works beautifully, no problems with the mechanism at all. It looks great with my stainless steel appliances. I highly recommend it.

Am thrilled to have this new trash can, however, both me and trash can have to communicate a slight bit better as we go on... ~ If just walking by the trash can upon its side [without even having anything to put in it at all], then turning back almost a second later, it will open up on the lid (when flipped to the motion-related setting); although it does charge into the batteries usage a bit, at least it clearly indicates that the motion sensor working pretty darn well! ~ My learning to accept that while I primarily only keep it upon the motion-related setting and I make motion for it to open up while I'm scooping food, etc., off my plate or from a cooking pan/pot, that setting IS set to close back down upon a limited amount of time (unknown for sure since I DIDN'T look into the owner manual booklet, but seems like out of guess between 30 seconds - 1.5 minutes) -- it will close the lid while my hands & other item(s) are still within the open lid area! Therefore, I've now learned to switch the setting to open & close buttons upon the front instead of the motion-related setting when taking upon the reason for usage!

The good: Motion activated door keeps my hands clean and is convenient when I don't have a free hand. Stainless exterior looks nice - I'd even say elegant for a trash can. Size is larger than most stainless trash cans. Cost is much less than non-motion activated stainless trash cans of comparable size I've seen elsewhere. Long battery life. I've had mine for well over a year and haven't had to repace batteries. The bad: The size of the actual opening is small, so it is hard to place larger items (such a milk gallon) without forcing it in there. The plastic ring that secures the trash liner doesn't fit very tight, so the liner often slips out when the trash level increases and/or when a heavy item weighs down the bag. The door only stays open for about 2-3 seconds, which is fine for the vast majority of deposits. However, when I'm scraping food from plates, the door often closes too quickly and touches my hand and/or dirty dish. Since it is motion activated, the door sometimes opens when people (or my dog) walk by. This doesn't bother me, but some of my guests have found it annoying. Verdict: While I listed several negatives, the positives outweigh them by far. I am a germiphobe and love that I do not have to wash my hands everytime I throw away something. I am reminded of how spoiled I have become by the convenience of the automatic door whenever I cook/clean in someone else's kitchen.

There are 4 of these canisters, and they are all good sized. I use the largest one to hold my cooking utensils, and I still have 3 left for keeping dry foods fresh. These have a rubber lip, so they seal snuggly, and you aren't clanking ceramic against ceramic. I really want the cookie jar next because I bet it would really keep the cookies fresh. My kitchen is looking more Tuscan every day! Buon acquisto Ciao, baby!

I love my new grinder set. I am an avid cook and the convenience of only using 1 hand to season my food is so convienient. I only wish the chamber for the salt and pepper was larger - it will have to be refilled often.

My wife has severe pain in her hands and wrists. She loves being able to just push the button to season food while cooking or serving. The grinders are attractive enough to use on the dinner table and compliment the settings. My only suggestion would be a larger capacity for the peppercorns. The capacity is more than enough for an average dinner or cooking session. Overall, an excellant and attractive product.

For a compulsory purchase, I did okay. I like the style of the iTouchless trash can. It really does come in handy for cooks who are up to their elbows in drippy, slimey, food waste. I like that I can leave the lid open until I'm ready for it to close. When I'm shucking corn and cutting it off the cob, making fruit salad with 20+ orange rinds, it makes sense to leave it open.Everyone is always impressed when they see the can...but when it opens unexpectedly...they go crazy. It's a nice treat for my kitchen.I will definitely recommend it.
