Upon receiving this we found that the marble was cracked in 3 places and it was missing screws to adhere the marble. In contacting the company we were told that it was the "natural beauty". When we contacted Overstocks they immediately sent out an entirely new one, not just the marble. It has a big chip and a repaired crack. We are giving up and just keeping it. Overstock was kind, but we are just done with it!

We recieved our cart yesterday and assembled it. Everything was intact when we recieved it. No broken marble or parts as others might have had. It was a pain to assemble as others had the same problem. I think it was worth it in the end. It looks great in our kitchen and is close to and pretty exact to our kitchen cabinets and black marble counter tops. I recommend this product.

I ordered this to use in my new laundry room as a folding table. It is really sturdy and looks great. I was able to put the base together but the marble top was too heavy for me to lift so I had handy man do the top. Works perfect for what I wanted!

I am very impressed by this kitchen island. It had been very well packed prior to shipping and arrived in perfect condition. The size is substantial and it's extremely well-made. It has an industrial look, which I love. The marble top is quite nice. Overall, this kitchen island is terrific and I highly recommend it.

I love this island. It's excellent quality and nearly identical to a similar Crate & Barrel version that costs twice as much. It looks perfect in our kitchen. The service and delivery however was a bit of a hassle. First, the table comes in two boxes, the top and bottom. We received the first box one night, and the second the next night. When we received the marble countertop the next night, it was cracked. I called Overstock and they took note saying they would look into it. I received a message the next day saying that they are still looking into it and would take 2 days to get back to me. The next night a replacement top arrived, and the following day I received a message from Overstock saying that there were no more marble tops available and that they would be willing to charge me only half for the damaged top. Clearly a disconnect between Overstock and the table supplier, but overall very happy with the table.

I received this product in less than a week. It came in two boxes. I put the base together and when I opened the box for the marble top it was cracked! I should have checked right from the start because the box was beat up. I went online with overstock and they said they would contact the warehouse and send another top. I was concerned that I would have to ship back the old one because it was so heavy and I pretty much demolished the box when I opened it. Didn't have to to that and I received the replacement a few days later. It looks great in my kitchen and I'm a happy customer.

Cart came totally dissembled, putting it together was fun. Most everything went together as the directions showed. The marble top arrived broken. I reported it the same day, with in 7 days a new top arrived. Fortunately, the company sent two replacement tops and one of them was broken so I ended up with one good top and sent the broken top back. When fully assembled and with the replaced top, we are very satisfied for the price.

I looked all over the web for a kitchen cart to add extra storage and counter space to my kitchen. This item was the perfect solution. It fits nicely under the window and I am now storing large pots and casserole dishes on the lower shelf, onions/potatoes in a basket on one wire rack with my pot/pan lids on the other rack. The drawer holds several kitchen tools (rolling pins, immersion blender, etc.) while the speed rack has my most commonly used oils and spices as well as the kitchen towels and oven mitts. The work surface is large and versatile with the wood and marble surfaces meeting all of my prep needs. The 'chop and drop' system is a game changer and makes clean up so much easier. It took a few hours to put together but if you read through the instructions completely before starting and use the written instructions along with the diagrams it is pretty straight forward. This product has exceeded my expectations and I am very happy with it.

only reason for the 4 stars is that the holes weren't lined up making it harder to get the shelf in. my husband had to do that. otherwise, it was easy to put together. one reason i ordered it was because it folded and you only had to screw on the top shelf. as you put each shelf down it would help to have someone hold the other shelves up for you (if that person doesn't have alzheimers - which my husband has). i nearly had shelves fall down on my head a few times. but .. it is now together and i really like it. my microwave only fits on the 2nd shelf from the bottom, making it harder to operate. but, it does fit. i also put my toaster over on it. i have a kitchenette and my microwave took my whole counter until i put it on top of the refrigerator which was pretty inconvenient. so, anyway, i am very pleased with this purchase. i also bought the little table and chairs with the marble like top and it matches well. overstock.com is a great place to buy. i do lots of shopping there and have always been pleased.

This is a gorgeous piece of kitchen equipment in addition to being utilitarian with the large amount of storage capacity if provides. I chose this one despite having a tiny kitchen because the wood matches my cabinets and my carpet has black in it, so I suspected it would blend right in if placed underneath the window on the back wall, perpendicular to an unused cabinet where it would also hide a missing drawer stolen by previous tenants, and it did. My son assembled it in two hours with no difficulty. The assembly instructions don't provide much detail, but the pieces themselves are marked with letters indicating where they go and in which direction they need to be placed. We did not find it necessary to use glue, longer nails, adjust rails, or do anything other than redrill a starter hole for the spice rack, as the lower right hole was slightly higher than it should have been. We had screws on hand (I had previously purchased the screws, glue, etc that other reviewer found necessary to use, just in case), so the problem was taken care of in a minute. The drawers do not pull out more than halfway on one hand, but on the other, they won't fall out, either, if pulled out a little too enthusiastically (too far), so you'll never have to deal with restoring the contents from the floor to a potentially broken drawer. They slide in and out easily (the rails were lined up perfectly and straight) and can be filled to capacity, albeit you may have to reach in to get something small should it wind up at the back of the drawer. I averted that potential problem by placing small bins in the three upper drawers, available at any dollar store. I bought this for storing the necessities required to care for my 35 finches and canaries, which used to usurp most of my freezer, four absurdly small 12"W counters, various drawers & cabinets, and a 5-drawer cheap plastic storage unit I hated, and it holds everything beautifully. I put three decorative glass jars for holding seed on the black marble counter, and small bottles of coconut, vitamin D, etc oils in the spice rack to avoid spilling oil on the interior shelving. The spice rack is fairly wide and would be good for holding oil, vinegar, pasta containers, etc. Each cabinet has one movable shelf that locks into place in any of the 8 or so stud holes that line all the cabinet's corners for that purpose, and they are readily moved if you wish to change the shelf levels at any point. The lower section on the right holds heavy bags of specialty seed (about 100 lbs worth) that I have to buy online in large quantities, while the upper shelf holds all the vitamins and supplements I use. Medicines are kept on the opposite upper shelf in addition to a container of smaller specialty items like kelp granules and soft seed. The second lower section holds prepared seed in large 5-lb stacked containers used to refill the glass jars on the counter top. The marble counter arrived without defects and we got it into place by lifting it up and lowering it carefully (it's very heavy) in place. It cleans beautifully and easily and makes a perfect workspace (previously, seed invariably ended up on the stove, in the burners, on the floor, etc., and this cart eliminated that problem almost entirely (spills still occasionally result in seed on the carpet). The cart holds a great deal and is obviously sturdy considering the weight of the items I store in it, and has greatly simplified the time I spend preparing their food, hunting for stuff that had to be stored wherever I could find room, and the counter is large enough to contain most spills, and those it doesn't (as seeds tend to roll), fall on the carpet below where they're easily vacuumed up. It could certainly hold plenty of pots and pans, cooking utensils, and silverware if used for the more common (I suspect) purpose of storing items necessary for human food preparation, and the marble counter can withstand a great deal of heat, though if one wanted to put a pot containing boiling noodles on it, I'd use a privet rather than risk scorch marks. It moves easily when not loaded up with hundreds of pounds of seed (eg, the tile floor on which we assembled it), but since that's usually the case, and it's on a 5" thick rug that impedes movement under the best of circumstances, I don't move it other than to clean the small area between the spice rack and above-mentioned missing drawer. The cabinet below that has been repurposed for storage of my son's "stuff" until such time as he graduates from med school and can afford a larger apt, and has therefore yet to necessitate moving the cart to gain access. The fact it can be moved on a thick carpet while holding over 100 lbs of stuff (at least), is a testament to its sturdiness. One thing I don't use as designed is the paper towel holder (primarily because there is nothing to stop it from continuing to unwind unless you hold a clean towel while removing the desired amount) and if you have one elsewhere (I have a standing rooster-top holder nearby), you can choose not to install it, or use it for alternative towels, ie, standard kitchen towels - it holds two, thrice-folded. All told, I could not be happier with the ease of assembly, obvious quality, functionality (storage capacity and countertop utility), sturdiness, and beauty of this lovely cart. It has proven to be a wonderful addition to my small kitchen by allowing for the removal of all the things that used to clutter up my kitchen to one place, where they are both hidden from view and easily accessed. I was afraid it would be too large for my puny kitchen, but the amount of space it opened up has increased what little working space I had 10-fold, removed all the clutter that was an eyesore, allowed me to get rid of the ugly plastic drawer unit, and consequently made my kitchen more usable and larger in appearance than it was before I had the cart, and I even have a freezer in which to keep human food now! I can unequivocally give the "Natural Finish Black Granite Top Create-A-Cart" my highest recommendation.

My kitchen lacked counter space near the stove and I wanted a counter top where I could prepare food and use as staging that also doubled as storage. The island has worked out perfectly for the space I had. Counter top is big enough for a cutting board plus plates. We've also had two people working on two sides. I use the bottom shelf for shorter pots (unfortunately doesn't fit stock pot) and drawer is great for small utensils. It was a felt-ish material, so lined it with contact paper, which made it feel more functional. Great height for preparing food (I am 5'2") It is HEAVY. I think 86 lbs shipping weight. I built the unit myself and it was pretty straight forward, but I couldn't lift it to right side it. The unit does wobble when chopping vigorously because of the wheels. You can lock the wheels to not move, but I think it makes the unit less stable. If I decide it doesn't need to be mobile, I may remove the wheels...
