Kids' Storage

If you have kids, then you need storage solutions to keep things tidy and organized. Children's toy boxes are an important part of kids' furniture, helping you keep clutter to a minimum while putting necessities easily within reach. Here are some functional kids' storage solutions to help you bring order to your home.
An organized room is an inviting place to play. To keep things tidy in family spaces, look for storage bins that coordinate with existing decor; a stylish ottoman with hidden storage can double as a place to quickly hide blankets and toys. Brightly colored children's toy boxes add color to a bedroom and add kid-friendly storage space to any kids' furniture set. For extra organization, add a label and a picture of what each box or bin contains. Visual references make storage easy -- for developing readers and frazzled parents alike.
Kids' storage options aren't limited to baskets and bins. Think outside the box; bookcases and shelves, for example, are a great place to display favorite toys, dolls, games, stuffed animals, trophies, and art projects. Unused dresser drawers can also be used to stash toys and other knickknacks. You can also optimize your kids' storage by finding multiple uses for furniture. A coat rack is great for jackets, but it can also keep a backpack full of homework ready for a last-minute dash out the door to school. Get creative and you'll encourage a lifetime of organization by creating children's storage options that your kids can use on their own.

  • Adult-friendly, too!

I found this to be well-built, and thus will stand the test of time. I think more would sell if the word "child's" was removed from its name, as I bought it for under my computer desk, to be used as a music bookcase, and it fits perfectly! The optional shelf positions (vertical or horizontal placement) make it probably the most functional unit I've ever purchased. The top piece arrived cracked, however, but overstock.com went above and beyond to send me a replacement piece, immediately. I've never been so impressed with customer service in my life! My only regret/suggestion, is that it be made available in black and gray. This would definitely open the market up to more adult-use buyers, in my opinion. Plus, I'm an interior designer, and both gray and black are huge in design right now, even in children's rooms:).

Very cute shelf. Fits perfectly in a small room and hold a lot of my daughter's precious things. She loves it!

  • Absolutely Lovely!

This well built and solidly constructed cabinet is lovely to look at! The cream finish is soft and slightly distressed, and the details are beautiful: beading around the door, an unusual antique look key style door knob, wonderfully turned bun feet, and a graceful high cathedral back. The pleated fabric inlay within the door can be removed if you don't fancy pink. Definitely heirloom quality!

Very nice cabinet. A little difficult to put together but my husband persevered.
