The bed is just as pictured - we ordered a second after liking the quality and looks of the first one. It was not difficult to put together and all pieces arrived without damage. We did lower the interior rails as our mattresses are thicker than recommended and were pretty high over the bed - did not look too bad and was not a concern for sleeping, but I just wanted it lower. The storage is great and our kids love to put their 'pirate booty' in the compartments. I also like that the top does not lift as on some other boat beds as I fear it may close on one if my children while they are playing.. One consideration- the bed is LONG and takes up most of the space in the bedroom. We have a good sized room and do not have much other furniture in the room and the room is filled with the two beds. I figured the built in storage would serve as each child's extra space. (We do have a large closet for clothes and dresser, not sure the bed storage would be good for clothing). Great bed for the price!

Overall, a good quality bed with storage. Drawers work smoothly and will be an asset in a small room.

I bought this bed for my 9 yr old and he really loves it. It looks like teen bed not a childs bed. It has different heights if you wish to add under bed storage or a trundle. Went together easily.

My 5 year old is thrilled with her new bed! My husband set it up in about an hour and placed the bed on the highest setting. The first thing my daughter did was make a little secret hide out space underneath, but she likes to be on it too! And, there's ample space beneath for storage (the cloth cubes from Target slide right under neath with room to spare). She loves the height and we hung a sheer canopy ($20 from Ikea) near the head to give it a very "princess-like" look. The bed is solid and sturdy with no shaking. We have not had any issues with slats cracking. If they do, I think we would just add a few additional pieces of horizontal wood, but I don't foresee any issues with our 40 pound daughter. Overall, after A LOT of research and comparisons with Pottery Barn Kids and a few other local high-end furniture stores, we are VERY pleased. This looks and feels like a $500 bed.

While we have a hide-a-bed, we wanted a real bed for our occasion able visitors. This bed was the one we chose because it matches the dresser purchased last year and has the advantage of large storage drawers under the bed. We didn't buy a box spring for this bed since the hight was a little more than we wanted for our 4 year old guest. We are very pleased with this bed.

This is an excellent first child's bed. Comes with plenty of storage. It was shipped in two boxes and many pieces, also a few pieces were slightly damaged, nothing huge. This is a great color for either a girl or boy and matches other dark wood pieces.

We love this bed in our son's "big boy" room. We did dark wood furniture with light gray walls and dark blue accents- worked fantastic. We did not do a box spring with the mattress based on other reviews which was a good thing as the bed would have been too high. The only reason I rated 'good' vs 'excellent' is because of the drawers in the bottom- they are fantastic for toy storage and blanket storage but a little hard to keep straight as they do not sit on grooves. Doesn't bother us too much but something to be aware of. Overall great purchase for the price!

I really love the new bed for my daughter. Its super sturdy and material is pretty good as well. I did not notice that the crib came with a drawer and I was happy it did. Extra storage is always a good thing. Lastly, making the bed was fairly easy to. My brother did a great job putting it together.

The bed arrived promptly in good condition. Installation took a while (although was not difficult) but we were prepared for it after reading previous reviews. The bed looks very nice and fit very nicely within the space we have. It matches the photos and descriptions so no unpleasant surprises. Very comfortable and the drawers provide much needed storage space (although they could be longer - there is space under the bed!). All in all - great bed for the price - we are happy with our purchase and recommend the bed.

I ordered this bed for my daughter. It is a nice bed, with ample storage underneath. The assembly instructions are TERRIBLE. It was even put together by a handyman. Parts were mislabeled, and we also had a screw with no threads and are contacting the manufacturer. However, once we managed to get it together, it is a nice bed. Very solid and exactly as pictured. We bought a 13" mattress and the overall height, while slightly lower than a traditional bed, was not too low. I would recommend buying this bed, but know that the assembly instructions are extremely poor.

Recieved this product at a decent time. All pieces came my boyfriend said he had no problem building it. It is pretty sturdy for my 3 year old child and the storage drawers are a decent size for socks and tanks and I put her pajamas there. My daughter loves it and it's low enough that she can climb on the bed.

Pretty nice little bed. Got it for a guest room. Relatively easy to put together. Took me a about four hours. One drawer was a little tricky cause holes didn't aline. But that said it all came together and looks good. Clean lines, modern look. Good for extra storage.

I did extensive comparison shopping, and this bed can't be beat for the price! The quality is great - all strudy wood, no cheap looking particle board. Assembly was easy and took about 20 minutes doing it myself. My four year old daughter loves this bed and I am confident that it will last her a long time. The bed sits a little higher than I thought it might (we are using a regular mattress and box spring - not a pillow top or anything extra-thick), but the included slats are sturdy enough to place the mattress directly on top of without a box spring if you want a lower bed for a younger child. The height under the bed is great for storage.

My brother is expecting so I thought I'd put in my review since he was wondering what crib we got. My mom sent it out before our son was born saving us the research headache and she did a great job! I'm pretty short (5'2") and I could easily get our son out of the crib even on the lowest mattress setting; by that time he was standing so you don't have to lean very far. We converted to a toddler bed at 18 months and he loved getting himself in and out and I think it made bed time easier because he can be more independent. I also sit in it with him and read books before bed. Perhaps the best is that he gets out of bed by himself and plays with toys in our room instead of being woken to screams of get me out of here. He's a pretty fast, active little guy who loves to bang and throw things and our crib still looks brand new. It may be light - but it is durable. Also, the under bed storage has been great for clothes to stuffed animals depending on his age. Converting to a toddler bed was simple and, finally, the crib is really light making it easy to rearrange furniture.

We wanted to get a nice sturdy bed for our toddler. This bed arrived in three heavy boxes. Overstock delivered it quite promptly. It took at least 3 - 4 hours to completely install everything but it was worth it. The frame for the headboard is good. The bed is sturdy and the quality of wood is better than expected. We bought extra bunker boards to put on the frame before we put the mattress on. We used only the mattress and no box springs because it would be quite high. The color of the wood is exactly how you see it on the photos. The three drawers are probably the best draws for us. They are wide, deep, and are on rollers. They glide smoothly on your floor not on rails. You can fit a lot in there - perfect for space and storage. There are NO real metal handles for the drawers so we went to Home Depot and bought 3 to install. Without some real hardware handles, it actually makes it hard to pull the drawers out. That's the only drawback. Overall, very satisfied for the quality of this product. It's not cheap but we rather spend on a bed our little one can grow into then a toddler bed that will outgrow in 2 years.

This crib is exactly what I wanted. I put this crib together myself while I was 7 months pregnant (I did have my husband drag the super heavy, large box into the nursery first). I am by no means an experienced carpenter but I do put together all pre-fab furniture myself. It took about 90 minutes for full assembly (I was in no hurry and took my time). The wood is a beautiful rich color with an almost golden hue. While very sturdy, the wood is not very heavy and it will dent against direct intense pressure (ie slip of the screwdriver or baby teeth). I am 5'7" and have no problem leaning over the curved side to put down and pick up the baby. No need for a drop down side. The underneath storage is perfect for holding bedding and misc baby supplies- but like other reviewers have pointed out, it is not a heavy duty piece. Overall, I am extremely happy with this purchase for its beauty, simplicity, and function. I will also use the conversion piece when the baby is ready for a toddler bed. Highly recommended!

We bought this bed for our 4 year old son. He loves it. It is very cozy and the kids get a kick out of the fact that there are drawers underneath.

I ordered this bed for my soon-to-be 5 year old. It is very cute and very easy to put together. The only problem I had was the two drawer front plates had a notch in each one, I'm assuming from shipping. I had only noticed one of them and contacted overstock.com and they are sending a replacement plate. I noticed the second one after I spoke to them. Also, it was missing a drawer knob. Luckily, they send 2 sets. Otherwise, very cute and my daughter loves it!

Poor quality and 1,000, 000 pieces. Not worth the money or effort. Once it was assembled, I was disappointed. Overstock delivery was fast.
