    • Safety on a Personal Level

      Not two days after I saw a newstory showing how kids sleep right through a regular fire alarm, the KidSmart Vocal Smoke Detector was available on Overstock. Brought three and received them quickly. They were very, very easy to use and even came with age-appropriate scripts that we very easily tailored for our own needs. My husband was estatic to find that they even were designed in the same format as the majority of other smoke detectors, so instead of having to install new mounting hardware, the KidSmart detectors simply slipped into the same slots the old ones were. The recording/alarm itself is very clear and very loud. My kids won't be sleeping when THESE detectors go off!

    • Smart idea

      I have not tried this product yet, but the video demonstration of how effective it is really sold me. My son and I are very deep sleepers and I have slept through other types of alarms before (so has he). I think we have a much better chance of waking up to the vocal alarm.

      I am a light sleeper, but my wife will sleep through anything, including alarms. She will, however, wake up to my voice. I thought this was a great idea, and it is very easy to use while giving me some peace of mind if I'm away and she is home. I'll be happy to use it also when we have children in the near future. The message is easy to re-record. Great buy! Oh, look up this product's website and watch the online video from a news report. This will sell you if nothing else does!

    • Will WAKE you up!

      The detector has worked great. It did fit into the existing holes of my prior detector with a little moving around of the base. After a few drills with the kids, they said that they woke up quicker by hearing my voice vs. the shrilling beep. I would recommend this detector to anyone with children. The only setback was the recording of the message. 15 seconds is a short time to record a message with instructions that can be clearly understood, maybe it was because I had to say two names. This is a 5 star rated product!

    • Kid Smart Fire Alarm

      I recently read a magazine that featured this product and I said, I must get those! Overstock had them for the cheapest price around. The set up and testing on this product was simple and very easy to use and it actually came with bateries. So, I highly recommend this product to everyone no matter what the size of your household. My household says that this voice recording would definitely wake them up!

      Excellent product! As good as advertised. We paid half the price at Overstock that we would have paid in a local retail store. We have great peace of mind knowing that our boys would wake up and be able to get out of the house in the event of a fire because of hearing their dad's voice on the vocal smoke detector. After seeing the video of how many children don't respond to the traditional smoke alarm, we are very relieved to have this in place.
