Very Nice Palm!
 from Florida,  Oct 4, 2006

When I ordered this Kentia Palm, I couldn't believe how huge it was! Even with the palm leaves shaped & curved outward, this palm tree seems to stand slightly over 8 feet tall. Looks great with super high ceilings. And it is very full. And looks VERY realistic. Since the basket it comes with is very small, I just placed that one in a large pot, filled it with rocks, & now it is super sturdy. I HIGHLY recommend this palm if you're looking to purchase a really big Palm Tree at a super price!

Nice tree
from Irvine Ca,  Jun 23, 2008

Very top heavy for the little basket it's in! The fronds are very nice, easily moved into place. Assembly was very easy. The tree comes in this little box and you cannot believe an 8 ft tree is in there. Very nice.

Excellent product
 from Boston,  May 3, 2008

I can't believe I love my fake tree more than a real plant - this one is amazing. Definitely expect to put this in a larger planter and secure with rocks or another material - the top heavy thing is true. But of all the ones I bought, this is my favorite. Also, it's not actually 8 ft tall, more like 7 ft.

Not a plastic plant person
 from Tucson,  Apr 23, 2008

As a rule I avoid plastic/artificial plants but I needed to fill a space in a high end beach condo. It filled the space well and from 5 feet away and more it's hard to tell it's plastic. There was a 2 inch gap in the trunk of the plant that would not assemble properly. I had to maneuver the leaves to make it work. I also placed it inside a much better looking pot and that helped the overall look.

Great Palm Tree
 from Virginia,  Apr 9, 2008

This palm tree was much fuller than the picture shows....but it seems to be top heavy, so I placed the pot into a larger ceramic pot and it looks GREAT! Exactly what I wanted.

For the money this tree isn't a bad value, but its not very realistic looking up close. From across the room it looks great, but up close the trunk is clearly bright green plastic.

drama in the corner
from San Francisco, CA,  Mar 14, 2008

This large palm is perfect for a distant corner of a larger room. the underside of the branches do not look too real, but the top side is great. Also the stalk is plastic and fails to live up to expectations, but in dim light and since the branches do tend to camouflage the stalk, the problem is reduced somewhat. It is very top heavy and needs to be supported by one's own inventiveness in the pot. Other than those issues, a great choice for a bold look.

Beautiful But Top Heavy
from Glen Burnie, MD,  Feb 22, 2008

I have received many compliments on this tree and almost everyone has asked me if it was real. It is HUGE, I definitely feel that I got my moneys worth. My only complaint is that it is top heavy, it comes with a very small wicker type basket. I placed the whole thing, basket and all into a large planter. I added some large rocks then filled it in with some moss. Even with the top heavy issue, I would still buy it again.

8' Kentia Silk Palm Tree
 from Oregon,  Feb 2, 2008

Very nice! I read the previous reviews before purchasing this tree from Overstock and after I had already returned another silk tree I had bought elsewhere that looked like a giant fake plastic plant, I have to admit I was rather skeptical. When it arrived, it only took a few minutes to assemble the branches, and I had already known based on previous reviews, that the pot that came with it was not sufficient to hold up this tree, so I had bought a larger planter and had already assembled some heavy rocks that I had put in this new pot. I placed the tree in my planter and it is pleasingly nice. I think it looks rather realistic and for the price, definately worth it. I dont think the picture that they use for this tree does it justice as its much fuller than the picture shows. I had expected it to be a bit taller but it is just fine. The longest leaf probably just hits close to the 8 feet range but the average is much lower. The only thing I could really critique is that it is a little too green to look totally real, but its just great anyway. Its perfect for someone who wants some color in their house without the maintenance of a real palm (which normally doesnt live very well indoors after purchase anyway). All in all 5 stars!

Not what I expected
from Atlanta GA,  Dec 4, 2007

I bought this tree thinking it would add tropical ambience to my bedroom. Sure the leaves are nice and real looking, but they are way too big for the pot. The tree keeps tipping over... I currently have a string tied around the base from a door knob to keep it upright. Also, you have to be careful when trying to bend the leaves and the stems to form a more natural look, as some of the leave are loose and fall off easy. It is hard to get the leaves to look balanced on all sides. In my opinion, it is not worth the money or time to get it to stand up. Think I will somehow use the leaves for other decor ideas.

Good Trees
 from Alabama,  Sep 6, 2007

I bought two of these palm trees to go in my 17 foot high den. They fill up the space around the television very nicely. I'm still playing with the fronds to make them look right, but this is a very nice tree. It was very easy to put together. I had ready the reviews and knew that I wasn't going to use the baskets that came with the trees. The baskets are much too small for this tree. Somtimes the tree tips. I've found that if you spread the center limbs at the base, the tree becomes more stable.

Pricey Palm
from Streetsboro, Ohio,  Jul 10, 2007

I was a little disappointed when my palm arrived - it did not seem to be as large as I expected when the description referred to it as an "8 ft palm" - maybe to the tip of the longest palm frond if you stretched it out. The container was much too small for the size of the plant, however, and kept tipping the plant over, so I had to go out and purchase a larger container. It was very easy to assemble, and the quality of the product is very good, but in general I would not order it again at the price I paid if I had to do it over.

Great plant
from Bucks County PA,  Jun 9, 2007

Plant is very lifelike, TALL and pretty. Very good for open spaces as the leaves are wide. Makes our room look very welcoming. The planter has not tipped over on us though the basket is tiny. Very beautiful purchase.

Big, nice, simple
from Miami, Fl,  May 28, 2007

It came the next day and only took 2 minutes to assemble. The plant is thin yet very life like. Good for a great room or foyer with high ceilings. I needed to buy a big beautiful pot and fill it with river rocks to weigh it down since the one it comes with is ugly and flimsy. Nice wide spread and height. Hard to find artificial plants like this one. Go for it!

Kentia Palm
from Tucson, Az,  May 23, 2007

I love it! It looks so real, if it wasn't me that bought it, I wouldn't think it was a silk plant. The palm tree is tall almost to the ceiling. I only have to buy a bigger pot to put the tree in, about double the size and looks expensive one, so it would goes well with the Palm tree. Kentia Palm always rated as a the most expensive indoor palm for Home decoration. Play with the leaves, bent them outward then down. And voila, it will last forever with zero maintainent.

These look fantastic
 from Dallas,  Apr 30, 2007

I purchased two for my dining room and they are great. I read the prior reviews about the light base and the propensity to tip over so I purchased some ceramic pots for them and got some rocks to weight it into the pot. The plants come with a moss type of cover for the pot so once I had them in the pot and put together I could cover the rocks I used to weight them down. My mom and dad asked if they were real when they first saw them. They look that good.

Good for the price
from Las Vegas, NV,  Apr 3, 2007

I was not as thrilled with these as others have been. However, I still think it is a good deal. They fall over quite easily because of the poor design of being so top heavy with these dinky little baskets.

silk tree
from Colleyville, tx,  Mar 30, 2007

This tree looks really nice once put up. It makes the room looks so airy and fresh. I decorate my room very simple and modern, so this tree is perfect for my living room. It has few numbers of frond that I like,,,making it not too bulky and clutter. The only problem is like many viewers said is the tree is too tall and heavy for the pot. It will try to fall on one side , you have to be creative and try to make it stand straight..I bought this faux metal cylinder pot that goes with my modern look and it fits perfect...

Not as nice as the picture, this is the first time I am disappointed in a product from Overstock.com. Tree keeps falling over, I need to buy a larger pot.

I liked it so much, I bought a 2nd.
from Orange County, CA,  Oct 26, 2006

This palm tree looks great. It's a good size and really helps fill my living room. I liked it so much, I bought a second one. Although the first palm was missing some palm leaves, it still looks great and you can't tell it's missing a few leaves.
