The globe is more orange-brown, leaning more orange, not coppery as it appears online or "pale amber" as stated. That can be fixed with a little brownish spray stain though. With four-40 watt bulbs (total 160 watts) I expected a glow similar to a 150 watt bulb, but instead it has a pretty, soft, ambient glow which works fine for our needs. All that said, it's a very pretty fixture. It's perfect in our Ladies Parlor since it's leaf "carving" matches the leaves in my drapes. I'd recommend it to anyone that likes the look, but doesn't need task lighting.
