Dangerous Product
from Rochester, New York,  Jul 23, 2013

I consider Kalorik blender a dangerous product since it went our of control on the first use. I placed mushrooms in sauce in the container for chopping. I pulsed two or three times. On the next pulse the speed control knob broke off. The machine remained "on" and the speed accelerated to full speed.. Since the knob had broken off the only way I could stop the blender was to pull its cord out of the socket. In addition to the scare I experienced my mushrooms were liquefied. Upon examination of the broken know ity was obvious that the stem of the know had split. The plastic stem was very light weight plastic, hardly capable of absorbing the vibration of the speed mechanism. I chose the Kalorik because it has 6 blades, as opposed to 4 blades in other blenders (except the Ninja). I thought the 6 blade was a more advanced technology. I also liked the glass container. The container cap again was a very light weight plastic. The base of the blender was painted light weight plastic, not metal or much heavier plastic as most blenders. I am annoyed that I must pack this up and ship it back to you. What a disappointment!

  • How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Identical
  • Please tell us about the quality of the product. Poor.. My first use of the blender was my last use. I placed mushrooms in sauce in the blender for chopping. I pulsed three or four times. On the next pulse the speed selection knob (pointing at P) broke off. Pulse speed elevated to full speed.. Since the knob had broken off I had to pull the plug from the outlet. It was frightening to have an out of control blender. In addition, my mushrooms were liquefied. I purchased this blender because it had 6 blades, as opposed to four blades in most blenders (except the Ninja). I thought it was an improvement on the four blade blenders. The poor quality of the materials in the speed control knob were very surprising. I did like the heavy glass jar, though the cap was very light weight plastic. The casing of the motor was not metal...it seemed to be a painted plastic.
  • How accurate was the on site description of the product? Details were general to the appearance and fun ctions of the blender, including description of the 6 blades. Materials used in manufacture were not specified.
