Kalorik JK 19967 BK Cordless Electric Jug Kettle

Rapidly heats water. It is an amazing tea kettle. Love it !!! Wish my oven worked as well.

The second time I filled it up (part of the intial cleaning process), the top refused to go back into place. Also the cord is so thick it won't lay flat on the counter. Awkward, but not a deal breaker. The nonfuctional top IS a deal breaker. Sent it back the next day.

We wanted a basic electric tea kettle & were sticker-shocked (!) at the vast array of them all until we found the Kalorik Jug Kettle! Reasonably priced (about $xx - with S/H) - it's a beauty sitting on our counter! It holds 2 qts of H20 & heats them FAST! We really like its automatic shut-off button when the water hits the boiling point. Also appreciate the fact that the kettle lifts off the heating element - so is essentially "cordless" from the counter to the serving area. The black color goes well with other kitchen appliances. We can't say enough good things about this product - a great buy! The only downside was that it took about 2 weeks before it was delivered to our door!
