I bought this because we live in the desert and I don't like to use my oven in the summer but I love to cook chicken. This is my first experience with a rotisserie and Kalorik. I found it an exceptional appliance. The chicken comes out grease free and falling off the bone. The fact that it's totally quiet means I don't have to listen to the grinding of a spit turning. The rotating heat on the meat makes this appliance completely free of noise. I like cooking chicken on it the best, you can put a rub on your chicken and it just seals in the juice and tastes great. The skin is crispy and all the fat drains off of it because it's standing and the fat is collected in a tray on the bottom. Putting the chicken on the post is very simple and so is taking it off. When you turn it on you forget about it but in a short time you start to smell this great seasoned chicken cooking, worry and work free. It's great if you are having company for dinner because while it cooks you have free time to do other things. Be sure to spray the interior and all parts that the chicken touch with a cooking oil in order to make it work free to clean. I use olive oil cooking spray. You can have a 5 pound chicken cooked in about an hour and a half, so nice. I would and have recommended this to everyone. I'm 75 and love to cook and love my Kalorik. I have nothing but good things to say about my Kalorik cooker.Read More

I read all the reviews I could find before purchasing this and was a little nervous. I had read from some reviewers that it needed special attention, smoked too much, and/or burnt food. When you receive your "rotisserie", unpack it and place on HIGH (without lid) for 15 mins. OUTSIDE! It will smoke and smell bad while it burns off the oils and such from the packing. After that, wash the parts and the inside of the main body and it's ready to go. While cooking it will smoke slightly, but not enough to set off smoke alarms (our smoke alarms are extremely sensitive) or bother people. You can always turn on your kitchen vent if you have a problem. I sprayed the removable elements with cooking spray as instructed, so clean-up was super easy. The most important advice I can give is to ignore the recommended cooking times in the booklet. I can cook an 8 lb. chicken in 60 min. (30 min. on high, 30 min. on low), the booklet suggests that it would take twice that long. I suspect that any reviews of food burning are because of the recommended cook times, use your meat thermometer. Also don't let the meat touch the three heating elements, or those parts with burn (use butcher's twine if needed). The meat turns out browned and crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. I love this product!Read More
