Amazing Dining Set
We read the positive reviews and really hoped it would meet our expectations too. It exceeded them! The packing materials were very sturdy as is the table. It is extremely well built, easy to assemble (with the right tools and two strong men) and looks fantastic in the kitchen. A nice surprise was that the leaf is self-storing and easy to unfold. The chairs are also very sturdy with a supporting rail between the legs, a generous size seat area for children and adults. The bench compliments the table and chairs and the kids are excited to sit on them (instead of half sitting/standing on the old chairs). There is a decorative shallow routed line around the perimeter of the table that didn't show up well in the picture on line but it adds a nice touch to the look. The wood is smooth, evenly stained and nicely finished. We look forward to our first family meal all sitting around the new table.

Excellent quality
Ordered this table and was shipped and received in less than a week. It was packaged nicely resulting in zero damage. Directions were easy to understand and put together. Also ordered the hutch to match the table, which came in one peice. The weight seems to be a little off on the website-weighs much more because everything on the table is solid wood. This is the most attractive table we've owned. My family shopped for months until deciding on this table, and we are definitely not disappointed.

Beautiful table
Beautiful table, very heavy duty. Disapointed with the color of the leather seats, but it is still beautiful. We were missing two screws, but customer service was fantastic and sent replacements right away. Quick shipping, great service, great table. Would buy again!

Solid but not durable
I bought this table based on the looks and reviews. I am a single mom and was able to put all this together myself. I just needed a little help to move the table. It is a solid a sturdy table and chairs. It looks great, but here are a few things to consider....1. The ledge (which is hard to see in the picture) is difficult to keep clean. The grooves in the top are not a problem, but the edge seems to collect everything. 2. The table scratches easily. Within 24 hours of having this table one of my kids put a big scratch in the top. (although nobody admitted to it.) 3. Use coasters, a glass of milk put a ring on the table within a week of owning it. I have 4 kids so it is difficult to keep on them all. 4. The bench will most likely have to go. It only fits under the table when expanded and the button covers keep popping off. Once I lose a cover for good, bench will look ridiculous. 5. One of the chairs had a crack when it shipped. Overstock was slow to replace the part, but after a month I did get a replacement. The set is ok, but I was hoping for a long term kitchen table, I am not sure how long this will last in my house.

Black Leather
Received our table. We have not assembled it yet because we are taking it to the new home, but I took the chair pieces out of the box and the wood is beautiful and looks very sturdy and not cheap. The only thing that I am very dissappointed at is the color of the leather on the chairs. I bought this to match our leather sofa's which are brown. This is definitely black and not brown :( Other than that, looking at in in the box it seems to be of good quality.

Great look but quality is questionable.
I absolutely love the look and size of this table. However, although it is made of oak it is painted with some sort of veneer that is gorgeous but is already chipping on corners:(. Also, the bench: buttons pop off as mentioned by other commenters which isnt a huge problem but the seams are starting to come apart where the buttons are at. Very disappointed in that since I have no idea how to fix it. I would have expected that to happen in maybe a year or two minimum but not after 4 months of light use.

Beautiful table
This table is so beautiful! I get compliments on it every time someone comes over. I plan to put a glass top on it because it tends to scratch fairly easily. The grooves in the top of the table are very pretty, but a little annoying to clean. The bench is great, but the other reviews about the buttons coming off are right on. My daughter picked one off the first day we put the table and bench together. I have already superglued four of the buttons back on - might be taking the top off the bench and changing it into a non-padded one. Overall, I am very pleased with this table!

LOVE this dining set with the chairs and bench!
I LOVE this dining table set with the bench and chairs. I've had this set for about three months now and it's a great table. I ended up buying an extra two chairs for this set so that I had six chairs in total, and I put the bench in the hallway by the front door. It's a very functional setup as I don't usually have more than six people over for dinner at one table. However, if I did, the built in leaf expands the table a lot to where I could use the bench and six chairs to fit probably 9-10 people at the table, easily. The quality of the table is great as you would think that it would be more expensive than what I paid. Price is amazing for this table and I am VERY happy with it. I would highly recommend this dining table set. The only negative that I would say is that the table has these grooves in the face of the table, as part of the design. It looks nice but it does make it harder to clean as crumbs then to get it there. However, the grooves are wide enough that you can just run a napkin through it to clean, so it's not really an issue, just more of an annoyance.

Dining Table and Chairs
What made me buy this table was the bench. I put it along a window of glass facing the pool, does not get in the way of the view. I had to put it together myself needed to hire someone to help me. Next time I wouldn't order unless I could hire someone ahead of time to assemble.

Good table
We've had this table for a little over a month and we really like it. It is a solid table set. I don't know how the table wood would stand up to my two year old and four year old because I didn't want to risk it. I covered the entire table pretty soon after we got it to protect it, but so far so good. When we got the table, there was a little nick in one of the table legs. I called Overstock.com and sent them an email and they were great to send me out a new one hassle-free. My few complaints about the table - the buttons on the bench aren't very durable and I see a superglue job sometime in the future for them. The ridge around the table can collect crumbs and things making it a little bit harder to get cleaned up. Things I love about it - the chairs are very comfortable and very easy to clean with kids. The built in leaf is easy to expand. It is a great table (size and quality) for the price.
