According to the instruction manual, ducted fans must be vented to the outside. To reduce the risk of fire and to disperse air properly, make sure to vent air outside. DO NOT vent exhaust air into wall spaces, attics, crawl spaces or garages. I hope this is the information you needed. overstockcustomercare1 on Jan 11, 2013

Did not see any information about the size of the cabinet that the hood was attached to. What was listed was the distance from floor to stove top and stove top to fan.
