I was sick and tired of my 4 year old twin sons jumping on my beautiful leather couch, so we made a TV room for the boys and bought this instead of a couch. Holy cow, it is HUGE. In my mind, I knew that I was buying a gigantic bean bag chair, but my eyes could hardly believe how big this thing is. My boys love it. They lounge on it, jump on it, wrestle on it. This thing is DURABLE!!! I love that the cover is machine washable, but in the month+ that we have had it, nothing spilled on it that we couldn't just wipe off with a damp rag (we bought the dark grey color). Everyone who comes to our house needs to lounge on it at least once. I even came home from work early one day and found the contractor who was installing our new floors sprawled out on the ginormous bean bag couch!! My only criticism would be that it sits low and wide, like a big dog bed, instead of having a "couch-like form" as the picture suggests. That being said, my boys don't mind hanging out on a big dog bed. Overall, a good purchase and a great price compared to other sites. Thanks O.Co.
Nice, oversized and comfortable for two plus our doxies. Tends to flatten down quite a bit more than we thought. Just turn it re-fluff seems to solve that issue. Need to re-fluff once a day to keep the fullness. Dogs love it. They think it is for them! Much more relaxing to lounge on than a sofa and it doesn't take long to fall asleep on while watching TV whether you want to or not. Despite other reviews it is not heavy and is quite easy to move around need be. We live in a third floor apartment and wanted something easy to carry down three flights of stairs when we relocate. This fits the bill nicely. If you're looking for something to kick back and lounge on this works quite well. Even though we don't have any problems it does sit low to the ground , so getting out can be a challenge if you have any kind of physical limitations.
We tried to like it. I do not feel good about giving a negative review. This is my first one so putting it together by myself was a complete nightmare. The liner broke while zipping it up. It looked like it snowed heavily in the room I put it together in. It was every where. It was all through my hair on the curtains etc. The messy foam was flying throughout the entire room. I wouldn't have cared really if I liked the product. We really wanted to like it. I've wanted one forever for my 19 year old with Autism. I have read reviews that it didn't have a shape like a couch. It doesn't have a shape like a couch. It's like a giant peanut shape and it is like a giant dog bed except not comfortable like a dog bed. My son tried to use it and tried to like it but he doesn't. I try to break it in and get use to it but you kind of slide right off of it. It's really weird it feels like we're forcing ourselves to stay on it and that's not a comfortable feeling. I contacted Overstock about the liner, they sent me an outer cover instead. They really did try to help. I don't care because no one uses the giant dog bed it just takes up a lot of room in our theater room and my son actually prefers to sit on the carpet. I read some negative reviews about this product but I didn't care I wanted it. Big mistake. Some may like it but for my family it's just awful and I wish that I never purchased it. I plan on getting rid of it.
So It came in 2 boxes, one large 4ft box, and one approx 20" cube box. They are pretty heavy. Opened the boxes and there are 3 cubes covered in nice zippered nylon, which alone could have been used for ottomans to sit on. But you unzip them, and they begin to expand immediately.
The first 2- I actually had to cut off the nice nylon wrapping, the 3rd, i was able to pull it off without cutting. I got the first plastic cube of foam into the protective nylon liner and it expanded immediately, that was a mess; the other two did not. I was able to remove the plastic from the 2 but never able to get all the plastic form the first so it has that plasticky sound, ugh.
The protective nylon inner shells' zipper pull,- pulled off almost immediatey, had to use needle nose pliers. I wouldn't wait to get the foam filled nylon shell into the cover, just get it in there as soon as you fill and close the inner shell. It's not that easy getting it together with one person. I did do it, but also broke a sweat with the different obstacles I overcame. Then the moment of truth... A HUGE bean bag in my living room.
I believe there to be a learning curve, I'm 49 afterall. IT IS COMFY. I can see falling asleep on it. But it is blobby compared to a couch or futon. Oh, and the CINABAR color is dark, rich RED, not cinnamon, or browninsh red. I actually like red so that's OK. BUT the color on multiple screens definately looks brownish reddish.
This model has a one year warranty. The cover can come off for washing. And it's an AMerican made product. My husband has yet to see it, I'm sure he'll be stumped as to why I chose this to replace our futon. Once he lays down on it, I'm sure he'll love it. It doesn't do anything for looks in an adults living room but I am over caring what other people think anyway, so that's ok too.
