First, there are no instructions. You have find and download them from the internet. Second, the instructions are in looney order. Take a good look at them before you start. You will likely not do everything in the order they say to. The drawings of the hardware are not to scale. The smaller screw is drawn as the bigger one and it doesn't tell you how many of each thing you should have. It took me a while to figure out what went where. The box that had the rails in it made a noise like an Amazonian rainstick when I picked it up. That's not good. I carefully opened the box and the desiccant envelope, which was packed on the inside top of the box, had ruptured. Tiny crystals went everywhere. I was able to keep most of them in the box, but weeks later, I am still vacuuming them up. But I got it organized and it went together fairly easily. Some of the joints do not absolutely close up, with no gaps. But that's life--it seems very sturdy. Following the suggestion of another, I bolstered the rails with the rail box, some shoe boxes and shims of styrofoam. cardboard etc. It didn't take too long. This bed is actually 50H, 56.6W and a little over 80L. Wish I had looked closer at the photo before I bought. I need a new, larger mattress now because the front legs and frame stick out and have tripped me, banged my leg, toes, etc., many times. It was humorous at first but is no longer. I can't move it into a wide open space, and it is shown, either. I might be able to see those edges better. This is right smack between a full and a queen. What mattress should I get? Other than all of that, it is a nice looking bed and goes nicely with the other things I have. I do need a new mattress anyway. But it's very hard to figure out which mattress to get that will fit but not hang over the sides too much. Maybe I should just figure out bumpers for those edges :)

We were looking for a contemporary platform bed for our guestroom and this one fit the bill perfectly. It was very easy to assemble and the color is a true black, not an espresso. I do wish the headboard were a few inches shorter. My only complaint is the longest center support (there are 2 included- one short and one long) is too short so really doesn't support the bed. Overall a beautiful bed that I recommend.
