We bought three 40-bottle units and took their advise to glue for stability resulting in what seemed to be a never ending project. Each dowl rod had to be crimped on both ends before inserting in hole with drop of glue. It ended up taking several days to complete the project. The end result is fine, it is functional and appears to be stable. In retrospect I would have spent more for less effort.

The instructions are easy to follow and the wine rack was easily assembled. CAUTIION: The pegs may seem tight, but can work loose through the weight of the wine bottles. I stocked my assembled rack with several bottles and left it undisturbed for two weeks........the sound of glass hitting glass had us rushing into the storage room. Luckily we caught the bottles just in time. Do not assemble without using PLENTY of wood glue. I haven't rebuilt my rack using additional glue yet.

came as advertised. One of the sections had the holes drilled all wrong, could not be used, had to be returned and made the product store less than advertised wine bottles and less than it should have. I have sent the piece back for a replacement piece at my own cost which pretty much eliminated ( and more) any savings I had by buying the product here. I am not happy with this.

We had some beautiful under counter book cases going to waste. Now they hold 4 cases of wine and look really lovely, plus we can actually read the wine labels and not worry about the searching through cases of wine. The wine rack is easily assembled and made to fit into any irregular space even by my not too handy husband! Highly recommended

The product is very sturdy but a bit of a chore to put together. Took a couple of hours of pounding with a mallet. Some of the pegs were not sized right, they were too small, but you got plenty of extras so it wasn't a problem.

I used the rack to fit inside an antique ice box so I fit the pieces together to accomodate the chambers of the ice box. It worked great.

Better than expected...this wine rack is nice and sturdy...only need a mallet and some time to put it together. You can configure it it any shape and its made in Vermont.....

We have wine in two houses and the main storage was moving to another so we had to come up with something. This kit seemed to fit the bill, as we were able to build storage to fit available cabinets easily. The quality of the parts is great and we'll just have to see over time how it holds together. My husband didn't glue but did pound in the pegs well with a rubber mallet

• Please tell us about the quality of the product. It's basically a tinkertoy project but my hubby enjoys those. He didn't seem to think that gluing was neccesary if you pound in the pegs with a mallet, which he did. So far, so good. Looks great and does the job.

This wine rack was easy to assemble using just a rubber mallet. There were no missing parts, and extra dowels were provided in case one or two were an incorrect size. I also like the fact that with this design, additional racks can be added without compromising the design. I would highly recommend this product.

I really like my wine rack! When I originally ordered it, I had a spot in mind where I wanted to put it! When I received the product, because you litterally can create your own design, I was able to find an even better spot for it! Purchased this item to fit under a desk space in my kitchen. It fits perfectly - I built it similiar to how it is shown in the picture. It did take some effort to put together and I definitley had to use a hammer to get the pegs in and get them in all the way - not possible without using a hammer. Trickiest part is getting the pegs in straight and all the way otherwise it ends up all crooked and the next piece won't fit on easily.

This is an excellent choice especially if you have an odd space you would like to put the rack (for us in the closet). You can make this into any configuration you want. It does take some time to put together but I think it was worth it. It looks nice too.

If you have a collection of wine and dont want a boring rack like everyone else, this is perfect for you. it goes together easily, all i needed was a hammer. it is kind of like link-in logs from when i was a kid. you can put them together in any shape you want. i am really enjoying it.

At first glance you think of slipping pegs into holes of cross pieces, like you did with your tinker toys as a kid and having this together in a few minutes. But this is a very tight and sturdy structure when you are finished. Find yourself a rubber mallet and prepare to get a bit of a workout, and you will be rewarded with a very square and very sturdy wine rack. We did ours with a width of 5 wide to fit our space, and just ordered another to make it taller.....it's that sturdy. I give this 5 stars because I'd rather have a little work to end up with something really sturdy, than something that is pre-assembled but not the quality or sturdiness of something like this. We really wailed on these junctions and nothing snapped or gave way, solid hardwood. This will last a long time without problems of poorly constructed joints you see in products made in China. It's a plus, made in the USA.

A bit of a pain when I first started, but once I got the hang of it, was much easier to assemble. I did use just a touch of glue for only a couple of horizontal pegs. Once fully assembled and the pegs knocked in place, very sturdy and of high quality. I plan on getting another 40 bottle rack and build onto the one I have.

It is what is is... a "tinkertoy" style wine rack. I bought two, so i could make a bigger one. I ended up making a 9X5 rack and needed only 4 or 5 "logs" from the second set. So, if you're looking to make an 8X5, one set will do you. Get a mallet and plan on making a lot of noise. This set is nice because you can customize your rack to fit your space.
