We hung this chandelier over a stairway going to the basement and it looks very nice....especially with our wrought iron spindles. I should have read closer, but from the picture I thought that this fixture came black but it was brown. My husband painted it for me and it looks great. I didn't assemble it but I guess it was kind of a chore.
I liked the look of this light fixture online, and it had the upward-facing lights that I was looking for. The price was very reasonable, but I then had to pay an electrician $150 to put it together and install it. He nicked some of the finish in places, scraping tiny bits of the dark bronze off and exposing some shiny metal. But if you weren't me you wouldn't notice. Also, note that the light fixture CANNOT be adjusted in height. It hangs from a rod, not a cord, and that rod is threaded with the electrical wire. So be sure to measure before you buy. Overall a good light for the price.
I received this as a gift for my wedding shower (I picked it out) and i was very disappointed. The directions for assembly were useless. Neither me nor my very handy fiance could figure it out, and even if we did, the paint was already chipping and I doubted it would look very good once it was assembled. One part was intended to be unscrewed, but it was on there so tight I tried a pair of pliers with a cloth between them so as not to scratch the paint, and it still wouldn't loosen.Very disappointing--this one defeated me, and I ended up returning it--something I've never done for this reason.
