I ordered this stand to help stabilize the umbrella I also purchased from overstock. My table has a hole for an umbrella, so I was hoping that this stand would provide the additional support needed to keep it from moving around in the wind. Honestly, I thought this stand would do a better job of holding the umbrella in place when the wind picks up at my house, so for this reason I gave it 3 stars. The stand does come with two plastic inserts (that can be removed) if the pole on your umbrella isn't as thick as it needs to be to fit in this stand. I didn't have to use either of the inserts but this is a nice feature just in case the next umbrella I purchase doesn't quite fit.
The stand went together easily and is sturdy enough to hold the 10' umbrella. Note - at first I thought the umbrella's post was too large for the stand, but after my morning coffee I realized there was a removable insert in the stand. When I removed the insert the umbrella fit like a glove. Love it!
The umbrella stand is heavy/sturdy and works well for the umbrella I ordered.
The mustard yellow shown in the picture online is VERY different from the color of the stand in person. In fact, I would never call this umbrella stand yellow at all. It exactly matches my husband's college apparel, which is burnt orange. I'm really disappointed with this product because I would have ordered a different color or brand or something had I known the actual color would be so different than what was shown online. Based on that, I cannot recommend this product because it's not what I thought I was ordering.
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? No comparison. I would never call my stand yellow. It matches my husband's University of Texas burnt orange apparel.
Please tell us about the quality of the product. Heavy, like it should be. Seems to work fine.
How accurate was the on site description of the product? The color is inaccurate. It looks like mustard yellow on the site, which is why I selected that color. In person, the color very different (burnt orange).
The black umbrella stand is heavy and very attractive with the raised roman numerals. Assembly directions contains diagrams only. Words would have been helpful. There is a plastic sizing insert which allows the use of umbrellas with poles of varying diameters.
Just what I needed to keep my market umbrella in place over my table on the deck. Everyone loves it in green. As others have said, I can't imagine it working as a standalone. It has multiple adjustments to make it fit multiple umbrella poles which is a nice feature and made my pole fit perfectly.
received product, however, waiting until next season to put it up with my new table. It seems to be sturdy and will do the trick. Hard to evaluate because not in use yet, but so far have been pleased with most everything ordered from Overstock, and think this is no exception.
Wasn't sure where to say "thank you" for your reply Vicki! One more question: If the opening accommodates a pole 1-1/2", will it tighten down (will the screw go in far enough) to securely hold a pole only .78 of an inch? The whole spinner only weights 16 lbs, but I'm not sure of wind force/pull when it spins. (Is there a place to say "thank you" here, or must it be done with "ask a question"?)jrws33 on Aug 18, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello jrws33, yes, it will securely hold a pole that is .78 inches. The spinner will go all the way to the other side to hold your pole in tightly. Thank you for shopping with us! Terri D.overstockcustomercare2 on Aug 19, 2014
Hello, I'm purchasing a wind spinner that is 6' tall with 2 24" spinners. Pole size is .78 inches. Do you think this base will be heavy enough to hold it when it spins and will the knob adjust to hold the pole securely? (Please remind me of the weight of the unit). thanks.jrws33 on Aug 15, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello jrw33, this stand weighs 35 pounds. It is hard to say whether it will hold your spinners without knowing the weight of the spinners, but customers have reviewed this to be a very sturdy stand. The diameter of the pole hole is one and a half inches so it looks like it could be screwed in to fit your pole. Thank you for shopping with us. Vicki Hoverstockcustomercare2 on Aug 16, 2014
Hello kimy9! This lovely stand will accommodate up to a 1.5 inch pole. Thanks for shopping with us! -Amanda Poverstockcustomercare2 on Jul 28, 2014
I purchased this, but the umbrella I also purchased didn't fit the base, since the pole diameter was larger. All your umbrellas need to indicate the diameter of the pole and suggest the bases it'll fit in. Only a few have the diameter under product details. What umbrellas does this base fit. I'd like a 10-11 size?annstay on Jun 7, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question

You know there is a removable plastic shim inside the pole support right? If you remove the shim the stand takes a pretty big pole.bines on Jul 8, 2014
Can this umbrella base be used as a "free standing" umbrella base (without table/dining set)?lmow on May 7, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Yes. We have used it for a freestanding umbrella with no issues. It is heavy enough to have withstood some strong winds, also.h2opixie on May 23, 2014
I have bought the umbrella Item #: 14117996. Wondering if your umbrella stand will fit the umbrella perfectly?samlee32 on Feb 17, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello samlee32, yes this would fit perfect. Your pole is 1.3 inches in diameter and the hole in the stand is 1.5 inches then you would just use the screw to tighten. Have a great day! overstockcustomercare1 on Feb 20, 2014
With item #10480827 i also ordered item # 12209224 the fiberglass olefin crank and tilt 9ft umbrella for this stand. I ordered it for my son and he is having a hard time getting the two to fit together with his table that has a hole for the umbrella. Is there a trick or is this stand not the right one for the stand i ordered for him. I am not there to see what trouble he is having, but i wanted to check to see if there was something he is not doing before we return the stand.avenues62 on Sep 13, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Those should fit fine. The base says it will fit an umbrella up to 1.5 inches in diameter. That umbrella you have says its 1.25 inches in diameter.
Have a great day. overstockcustomercare1 on Sep 19, 2013
You would just twist the screw on the side so that the pole is tight.
