  • Beautiful addition to our home

I looked at several styles and colors of media fireplaces before ordering this one, and I'm very pleased with my purchase. It looks great and makes my living room so cozy and inviting. My son put this together in about an hour using a Phillips head screwdriver (the only tool required) and a drill (only needed as a convenience if you don't want to take the time to screw everything in by hand). We were missing the back center piece; Overstock said they'd get this shipped out right away. Luckily that particular piece is needed only for looks and didn't prevent us from assembling and using the fireplace in the meantime. The specifications in the instructions varied from what is noted online; the instructions say the fireplace can accommodate a TV up to 38" wide and up to 65 lbs. My TV is 50" wide and fits fine with no overhang.

  • Gel fuel efficient and crackly, but hard to open

I bought a case from Overstock which was a good value. The cans are very difficult to open. I ordered a paint can open which I hope will help. I also bought a can snuffer to make it easier to put out. So far each can has lasted me 3 hours. I haven't noticed any smell, but it does get a little smokey at the bottom of the can. The directions say to use tongs and the lid to put out the flame, but I found that awkward inside my fireplace. I hope the snuffer helps.

  • So glad I bought this gel fuel fireplace!

I'm so happy I bought the gel fuel version of this fireplace. It took me 1+ hours to put together myself. Once it was together it was too heavy to move so I had to wait for my brother to come over and help. Because of the weight it is a very sturdy piece of furniture and I feel that my 42" TV is perfectly safe on top. The piece is beautiful! I have been burning two cans at one time and that is plenty to heat of my great room. The fireglo gel I bought crackles nicely and is a little smokey when at the bottom of the can. I bought a can snuffer to make it easier to put out. Each can lasts almost 3 hours. I haven't noticed any smell. My only complaint is with the fuel cans which I find difficult to open. Would recommend this fireplace to everyone!

  • Poor quality for price

I was very excited to open this item and assemble it. This media fireplace is almost entirely made of particle board--very disappointing, as it was not cheap. All went well with assembly until I realized that I had installed the back panels upside down...unscrewed the approximately 24 screws, inverted the panels, and reinstalling the screws simply made the fiberboard sides of the unit disintegrate. The instructions for assembly were fine until it came to the two top drawers. There were black plastic caps on the tracks (which instructions did not indicate had to be removed). Once you inserted the drawer, it went in lopsided, and was impossible to remove without damaging the drawer and the metal tracks. We removed the black plastic caps after tearing out the drawers, and they were a tight fit even with an adjustment to the metal tracks, but they are now rendered useless, and just act like false drawers. The first time we turned on the heater portion of the fireplace, it remained o...

The Fireplace is great looking. It heats up our living room quickly and thoroughly. I love the many features for heating and lighting. I also like that it can be placed in a corner or against a wall. I get a lot of compliments on this Fireplace.
