I already had an order at ******* **** for a $$$ simple Urban type screen but they were back ordered until January 2015. Since this was going into a rental, I needed it much earlier than that date. I opted for this but kept my ******* **** order just in case this one looked too cheap. I was pleasantly relieved to find that it looked exactly as I had hoped it would. Very simple in design, sturdy and did the trick. I immediately canceled the ** order.

A little on the small side but I can always add more "logs" to my firepit.

  • So glad I bought this gel fuel fireplace!

I'm so happy I bought the gel fuel version of this fireplace. It took me 1+ hours to put together myself. Once it was together it was too heavy to move so I had to wait for my brother to come over and help. Because of the weight it is a very sturdy piece of furniture and I feel that my 42" TV is perfectly safe on top. The piece is beautiful! I have been burning two cans at one time and that is plenty to heat of my great room. The fireglo gel I bought crackles nicely and is a little smokey when at the bottom of the can. I bought a can snuffer to make it easier to put out. Each can lasts almost 3 hours. I haven't noticed any smell. My only complaint is with the fuel cans which I find difficult to open. Would recommend this fireplace to everyone!

Hard to assemble (many pieces), but well worth the time. Need a strong person to lift the box. Elegant, but needs a large space so as not to seem too big.

  • Gel fuel efficient and crackly, but hard to open

I bought a case from Overstock which was a good value. The cans are very difficult to open. I ordered a paint can open which I hope will help. I also bought a can snuffer to make it easier to put out. So far each can has lasted me 3 hours. I haven't noticed any smell, but it does get a little smokey at the bottom of the can. The directions say to use tongs and the lid to put out the flame, but I found that awkward inside my fireplace. I hope the snuffer helps.
