I don't usually buy contemporary looking rugs with geometric patterns, but I was drawn to this one for the circles and the colors. What might look to you like a tan/gold color in the picture is really more of a camel brown, and that's the color that you notice first when you see it on the floor. There are other shades of brown (like chocolate and tan) as well as slate/green shades. It works in our basement where we have a nice camel-colored sofa. It provides some additional color to very plain corner of our unfinished basement, but if you already have a lot of colors in your room, it might be too much for you. Also, keep in mind that the colors aren't as muted or soft as they look in the picture. The shades are darker and the colors are more vibrant. This is one rug that won't fade into the background!
