    • Style galore!

      These are the coolest desks in so many ways. They have beautiful lines, and the mix of glossy white and matte walnut (veneer) gives them a modern and sophisticated feel. Some minor imperfections in the white finish, but nothing noticeable to a visitor. We haven't begun using our two matching desks yet, but I'm aware that we will need to be somewhat careful with the glossy desktop, which just comes with the territory -- not a desk for a teenager, for example. Also, since the storage space is basically non-existent - let's face it, those lovely oval spaces are not very functional - you will need to have somewhere else close by to keep your "stuff". The desk is fairly large and chunky, so it requires some space around it. Perfect in loft space, as it is finished on both sides, which is a real plus. Overstock had the best price BY FAR!! Only negative was the shipping situation. We bought two, and they each came crated. I liked that they looked carefully packaged and crated, but they each weigh about 200 lbs. The shipper did not want to wait for us to open them and check them, so I refused to sign off completely on the condition of the two desks. I noted that the shipper would not wait when I signed the form elsewhere. Also, they stacked them in our garage, making it virtually impossible to open either of them until we could get several big guys to come and put them side by side so we could actually uncrate them and see the condition. Definitely a big, huge hassle, and more than once I was sorry I purchased them when I saw them teetering in our garage for weeks. I have purchased many things from Overstock, including furniture, and never had this issue before. I did report this to Overstock on the day they were delivered and asked them to note my account. However, aside from the delivery debaucle, the desks are chic, and wonderful to look at, especially if you don't want your office (home or otherwise) to look like everyone else's.

    • pretty not practical

      Great to look at but not practical for everyday office use. There are no drawers for storage so paperwork looks like clutter. Laminated surface chips easity at corners and side edges. It comes in one large piece so there is no assembly required.
