I was leary of buying this bed because there weren't any reveiws. I did it anyway and I'm so glad I did! This bed is beautiful! I was impressed with the quality and sturdiness for the price. There is just a slight antiquing effect that you don't see in the picture which made me like this bed even more.
We've had the bed for 3 weeks and the middle stabilization leg has already broken. We are using this bed in our guest room so we had one person sleep on it for one night and it is already rickety. Unfortunately, this bed was a disappointment.
My daughter slept on this bed for two weeks and the slat came apart. Overstock wanted me to pack it all up and return it rather than just sending me the part to fix it or partially refunding it. There is no way I'm breaking the bed down and trying to package it for shipping. Annoying. This is the second defective bed I have received from them. Last time I order furniture.
The bed arrived UPS in 3 days from Oakland CA to Henderson NV so far so good...the 2 boxes didn't weigh much. Opened and all hardware was accounted for (not heavy duty, but OK - required Allan wrench provided) would prefer regular or Phillips, but since this was made in China, I understood. Color was white with a few tan smudges perhaps to give the bed an antique look. Tubing was a medium gauge steel, definitely not iron, and where the tubing was curved, it seemed a bit flattened (but not flat) out, showing the bending process used, unlike a real iron bed. In defense, a iron bed like this one would cost double and weigh twice as much. Finally, the headboard came in a top section which sat into 2 front legs. One of the legs had the holes drilled upside down, but I drilled the correct holes through the steel tubing and was able to make it work OK. All in all, an OK bed for the price I paid, fairly straight forward assembly instructions, and really looks like a more expensive old time iron bed.
I purchased this bed for my daughter with the hopes that it'll last for the next 10 years. I initially looked for an antique wrought iron bed, but they're a) expensive, hard to find and heavy, and b) may have lead paint. This seemed like a great compromise. The bed arrived packaged very well and was relatively easy to put together. Once we had it assembled, we discovered that some of the paint was already chipping off one of the footboard posts. Pretty minor, but enough that I felt like I should point it out to Inspire Q -- especially considering this was going to be a bed that was used daily. I tracked the company down via Facebook and was so impressed. I submitted a message at 11 p.m. and had a response by 11:30 p.m. I then sent my claim to their customer service department and worked one-to-one with a rep who's sending me a replacement footboard. I wouldn't have expected this level of service for something bought via a third party like Overstock, but that's what I got. The rest of the bed is very solid and the paint appears well-adhered. I think ours was just an anomaly.
This bed is beautiful! It is a slightly antique white color. Not off-white, just a warm white. I have it with a white duvet with no problem. It is antiqued, with brush strokes particularly around the embellishments. There are also occasional bush strokes in a rusty color - faint and not obtrusive. I was happy with the look, but this is NOT a totally solid paint job or a bright white. It went together easily and feels sturdy, although when moving it it doesn't hold a perfect rigid rectangle shape. I made the mistake of dragging it around on the carpet a little too much and the center support leg is angled to the side a bit and needs to be pushed back in place. I think that's my fault! Point is, this isn't a solid, unbendable structure when assembled, but is definitely sturdy and strong. It arrived quickly but the box was pretty trashed. I took pictures in case it was damaged, but the bed was fine. The bag of screws had ripped open, so I collected them as I unpacked. Yikes! Fortunately everything was there. I'm inclined to blame UPS, not overstocked or the manufacturer. I searched a ton for a bed like this and couldn't find anything I liked better, or anything as reasonably priced.
LOVE our new bed! I'd been looking for a vintage inspired metal bed for a while, with most being actual antiques (and therefore out of my price range) this seemed like a solid compromise. It shipped in a day or two, and within the week it was delivered. Easy to assemble with two people. Very sturdy and even more beautiful in person than I could have anticipated. Very impressed with the quality and beauty.
Bed has a vintage vibe which is just what I was looking for. Not cast iron but made of what appears to be strong-enough pipe. Finish is off-white & has a little faux "antiqueing" that's not my favorite but barely shows. Overall, I'm very pleased with quality & appearance
We love the quality of these beds. There were a couple little things missing in the box and one of the beds were banged up (even though the boxes weren't) ... I wish quality control had seen the dents but we were able to put them to the wall side. All in all I like them and the grand kids will enjoy staying with us!!
Beautiful bed! They do have a bit of a worn look to the finish that I did not see in the photos but it adds to the character. You'll need some tools to put it together but we managed to get two together in about 30 minutes. We have them side-by-side in a shared girls room and they are so sweet!
Ordered this bed for my daughter and we both love it! It took the two of us about an hour to put together. We did have to take a long break when I postiioned the headboard leg incorrectly at first and punched myself in the face with it while trying to pull it back out. So be careful! Once together it is an extremely sturdy and well crafted piece of furniture. Great value for the money. Totally worth the black eye I've been sporting for three weeks:)
I purchased this for my daughter, and it went together easily with her help. It is stable when assembled, and is of above average quality. An excellent value for the price. One note, it is an antique white, with painted "antiqued" accents. Which is fine, but it is not the "bright" white of most other furniture if you are mixing pieces. Overall, I would purchase this product again.
