I bought this item to replace an ugly, unsafe coffee table. This was the perfect solution! It came assembled and ready to go right out of the box. It's comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, and practical. The storage feature is great; the lid does not automatically close when opened - a great safety feature. I have even considered buying another one.

I ordered the storage ottoman to replace a coffee table for my living room. This one is great! It's not too big and not too small. The storage compartment comes in handy. I love the sharp look and am very happy with the purchase.

well made, very dark brown. it sits at the bottom of our queen bed. Looks nice, but only stores a couple of blankets or a blanket and a couple of pillows.

I use this as a coffee table in our family room, a perfect size I wanted, not too big nor small. It really has that strong smell, but I think it will subside in the long run. I can say this is a great buy for its price.

This ottoman met all of our expectations. The odor others mentioned evaporated in a week or so. Dealing with Overstock.com was most satisfactory.

Soooo glad I got this! Perfect size, hold enough stuff to be useful, but it isn't oversized. The other reviews were very helpful and mine did have a "smell"....which really smelled like processed plether. But overall I couldn't be happier and the price was so right!

I am very very pleased!!!! I use the storage ottoman for a coffee table and foot rest. I store my throws, magazines, DVDs in the ottoman. I don't understand the other reviewers comments on the smell. It is definitely NOT offensive. It is a NEW smell. It fades away after a week. Thanks for helping me complete my family room/office.

When I first opened the box I was disappointed. The ottoman looked a little off-then I realized that the top was not installed properly . The hinges were not screwed on in a straight line. I unscrewed them and tried to fix the situation but only succeeded in making it marginally better. However, as with many things once you have them for awhile they grow on you and you don't notice the faults. So now I do like it. Perfect size with my 72"sofa from Overstock. Comfortable height and great for storing things(I have photo albums in mine.) If it had cost more I probably would not be happy but do feel it was a good value. Did not smell at all and delivery was quick and damage free.

I read the reviews before purchasing this item. It arrived in less than a week, which was great & was in very good condition. I ordered this item because it was smaller than most, which would work out great in my 750SF condo. I didn't notice the "odor", but what I was a bit disappointed with were the legs of all things. Smaller than I anticipated, thought they would be a bit chunkier. For the price, its a nice piece. If you're working with a small space, it doubles nicely as an ottoman & coffee table.

I received this ottoman quickly. I really love the way it looks. But after taking it out of the box I discovered a small snag closer to the bottom. It must be because the shipping box was so thin? Now they are sold out and I'd like to keep it, so I guess I'll just have to put a little super glue on it so the hole doesn't get any bigger. i'm also going to call Customer Service and see if I can get a discount. :( Disappointed with the tear, but I love this ottoman. It has all the looks for WAYY less damage on your wallet!

Love it. I just received the ottoman. It is just as pictured and it did have a little odor but that is due to the processing of the leather material and it will fade. I added a cling free dryer sheet inside and it seems to help,. Came within 4 days in great condition.

The ottoman is just what I wanted and needed. I use it in a hall up stairs for blankets,etc. I was leery of the smell that I had read of in the reviews, but am happy to say that the slight leather odor is not offensive. I like it! There was no assembly, thank you! It's great!

This ottoman looks great. I just would not recommend it for young children or pets that get on furniture. I had my two year old take a bite right out of the fabric the day we got it and the next day another child poked a hole in the fabric with a pen. The fabric just tears easily. If you don't have young kids or pets with nails this ottoman should be just fine.

As I viewed the ad, I thought I was looking at a black ottoman, but the ad said "avilable in brown only". I assumed it was a bad picture. I was wrong, the picture is pretty much dead on the color. It is a super dark espreso brown. Doesn't really match my decor, but I knew I was taking a risk. The corners are a little too soft and will probably be crushed by my over enthusiastic children, but it would be great for someone who doesn't repeatedly squish them in or who is worried about running into hard objects. Once again, it's a risk I knew I would be in for. I do really like the safety hinge, it can't fall shut to smack heads or fingers. All in all, this is a great piece. I'm mostly just dissappointed that they didn't have a better description of the color. Great buy also. I've seen similar ones in faux leather at department stores and super stores, but I haven't seen any for under $160. If you are thinking about this one, get one before they're gone!

I bought this ottoman for my bedroom, it looks great. My only complaint is the smell, but i read that it has a strong odor from another review. I highly reccommend this item

It had a very strong "paint" smell for about 2 weeks, until it was aired out...inside and out of the product
