i purchased two of these fans - they are of excellent quality, etc. however, assembly is not for the feint of heart - i had a professional install mine...it was not an easy task ... but the fans are really beautiful and move air!

Ive had this fan for over a year and for the most part i am satisfied with it. i installed it myself (never have installed a fan before) and it was a pain. I think installing a fan in general is a pain no matter what fan. that being said, the instructions were easy to follow and i was able to get this on the ceiling. after i finished the installation and ran it it worked. however, while being on high, it would run for a while and then automatically kick in to low on its own. i dont know if this is because i did not connect the wires properly or if it is a design malfunction. i opened the fan back up and re-connected the wires and it runs fine now- there was only one time where it automatically shifted gears, but it hasn't happened in the past month- i run the fan all night on high every day. the only reason i writing this malfunction in my review is because it appears that other people seem to have had similar problems with it automatically running or the lights turning on all of a sudden. the remote is very convenient, it has a nice range and never skips a beat. the fan itself is pretty big and gives off a nice breeze, also it's very quiet. if i didn't have the random malfunctions in the beginning i would recommend wholeheartedly. but because of it, i am hesitant to give this a strong recommendation.

I bought this fan from overstock.com about a year ago to renovate my small apartment. So far it works excellent. Now, i'm upgrading to a bigger apartment, and I was thinking to but this same ceiling fan.

I can see why someone sent it back. It was really hard to install on my jolted ceiling and atfer all of that it turns it's self on without me touching the buttons. It may would stop it I felt like pulling it all back down to change the settings on the remote receiver but it nearly killed my back putting it up the first time.

I've bought refurbished units of all kinds before and usually have zero problems. IMHO a lot of refurbs come from people who never read the instructions or just make up an excuse to return something; not so with this fan. I installed it on a cathedral ceiling which was a HUGE physical installation. From day one it would only run at high speed and the lights flickered constantly. I called HUNTER, and nice enough they sent another remote unit no charge and quickly. I took down the fan AGAIN (after taking it down a few times to ensure the connections were tight) installed the new wireless unit, and nothing. It is dead now whereas before at least I could turn it on high. Now after a few minutes of trouble shooting the remote LED doesn't light up, changed batteries, and now it appears the remote is dead as well as the wireless unit 20' up in my ceiling. HUNTER should actually test these refurbs as it seems to me this unit was merely repacked and is very defective. Will call HUNTER again on Saturday (tomorrow) and see what they will do.

Received fan within just a few days. Just like new. Works great and I love the size. I have a large room and you feel the air up into the dining room! You won't be dissapointed. Wonderful price.

This fan is excellent and an excellent value. I have seen this fan at a big box store and it was even on display. It is big and moves a great deal of air. We have it in our kitchen and it is a great addition to our newly renovated space. Even though it was refurbished it arrived in new repackaged condition and it went up without a hitch. Everything works as expected and have had no problems whatsoever with this fan even after 6-8 months. It uses candelabra bulbs and gives decent light output.

Very pleased with the fan. Shipped fast and was found to be in excellent, new condition. We had received many complimentson this fan from family and friends. I will most likely order a second one for the study. Highly recommended item!!!

Bought this for my office. Looks great and is quiet. The only thing is it doesn't take standard bulbs.

We picked up this ceiling fan from our mailbox in Texas (we live in Mexico), took it home, and he tried to install it. It was a huge pain to install, and then it didn't work. We discovered that the remote sensor unit on this "refurbished" fan was burned out. Unfortunately, we couldn't even return it because we weren't going back to the states within the 30-day return deadline. We'll have to find a replacement part next time we're in the U.S. Disappointing.

Overall, great bang for your buck. Looks nice with a dark wood/wrought iron interior if you use the darker fan blades, which I did. Operates well, except that the fan sent to me by Overstock must have been refurbished, because the transmitter (remote) that was in the box was the wrong remote and had batteries installed. I had to contact Hunter corporate for a replacement, which took several days. Not to mention I assembled and disassembled the fan twice trying to determine why it was not functioning, before I determined the problem was with the remote. Appearance wise, it looks pretty nice. Very basic, clean, certainly not elaborate or ornate like some other fan styles. I'd recommend this fan if you don't want to spend a lot but have something that looks professional and will work well - that is, once you get the right parts!

Now that the fan is up, I love it. The instructions were wrong in a couple places, so we had some trouble at first. It is very heavy so it's hard to hold up while installing.

Needed a large cheap fan and this fit the bill. Quality is great! Did not use the optional light kit since I have low ceilings but its definitely attractive. The finish is really nice and works well with dark wood. Never thought I would like a remote control for a fan but its been a great asset to have. Very quiet operation. The assembly is a bit complex for anyone who isn't mechanically inclined. Make sure not to force any of the screws since there are quite a few sizes and they are very similar.

The fan itself is beautiful and operates very quietly. As we have it mounted directly to the ceiling, the fan does not wobble or shake. There was a problem with the first fan that arrived but Overstock was wonderful in allowing us to obtain a replacement and made it easy to return the one with the defect. Even tho my husband has previous experience installing fans, he had difficulty with this one. It certainly is not for the faint of heart...

The cost of the fan is a great value, but only if the fan is in working condition! It took my husband almost 4 hrs to install the unit with all the little parts, once the fan was in place it was clear the fan was bent and would not be in working condition. This was almost three weeks ago. We are still trying to work with Hunter to get the fan returned and obtain a new unit. The apperane of the unit is very nice and will go well with our Tucan style bedroom.

Fan works great and looks great. Love the remote control feature. However, there seems to be some other remote that activates the fan and light. I notice the light or fan on when nobody has turned it on. Just a little quirk we need to figure out, too many remote control and wireless devices.

I bought the fan a few weeks ago, it arrived in a timely manner in excellent condition. My husband put it up today. Its beautiful, very efficient as it moves the air around extremely well. I was a little worried when some of the other reviewers said they had a few glitches, we had no problems at all with the product. My husband is semi handy, and had no trouble what so ever.. I Love it! I may order another one.. Thanks Overstock....

I think this fan looks classy and great, it also does the job well. Arrived quickly and all the peices were there! Very happy with this purchase.
