Bissell Healthy Home Vacuum (Refurb)

I am very impressed with this vacuum. To be able to see the dirt that it gets out of the carpet is awesome. Can not say enough about it. It is on the heavy side but I don't care. My daughter in law was the one that suggested I get it and I am so glad she did.

After purchasing 2 vacuums in 2 years, I think the third time is a charm! This vacuum is heavy but it sure sucks up the dirt! I first used my fairly new vacuum and then I used the Bissell . The Bissell's cannister was half full with dirt and dust that the other vacuum didn't pick up! I don't mind getting a workout with this heavy vacuum because I only have to run it across the area one time instead of 2 or 3 times like I did with the other vac's. And ironically, the price on this Bissell was less than the last vacuum I purchased!

I have to say the best vacuum I have ever owned. Did tons of research, as I always do and the Bissell seemed to be the best value. I have only had it about a month now, but it does everything it claims. The suction on this vacuum is incredible. If you are not careful, it will suck up an area rug. The Turbo brush attachment pulled the dogs hair right out of his "throne" with ease. You don't have to work it for 20 minutes, it actually does pull up the hair. Only Cons I would say is it is a bit heavy and when the brush is engaged it is a little noisier than I expected All in all, if you want a vacuum that actually cleans, the Bissell Home Healthy should be on your short list.

The Bissell Healthy Home Vacuum (Refurb) has been an excellent choice for durability, air purification and convenience. Our home is very busy with 6 four-legged children (in and out of the house all day long) and a do-it-yourself husband that never learned to wipe his feet or bush off dirt from his clothing. The Bissell Healthy Home Vacuum (Refurb) is used at least once a day on our hardwood, tile and carpeted floors. Other vacuums picked up the sand, hair and other debris but the filter seemed to just return the dust. The HEPA filter on the Bissell Healthy Home Vacuum (Refurb) cleans the air of impurities leaving our home feeling and smelling fresh. It is convenient to have the attachments right at hand and with a push of a button you can go from hardwood to carpet. With the push of a button, the bagless canister is easily emptied into a trash recepticle. A damp sponge keeps the exterior of the vacuum clean. The only draw back of the Bissell Healthy Home Vacuum (Refurb) is the ability to reach under furniture. This is the only time I have found the unit to be bulky or cumbersome to use. Hopefully there will be a long reach attachment bare floor attachment soon!

As the others have said, YES, it is heavy. I would hope that future models incorporate a system to power assist in gliding over carpet. That said, it cleans better than any other vacuum I have ever had. To test it, when I got it home, I first cleaned the room with prior vacuum cleaner THREE times! THEN I went over it with this one ... and it was as if I had never even touched it!! The amound of dirt and debris brought up was amazing! It really SUCKS!! :) Pun intended! Okay, the only other thing is that I do recommend emptying it outside. The dust will scatter. I think the reason is that the cannister opens from the bottom, which would be a fabulous thing --- IF the bottom opening was Bigger than the top. Because it is much smaller, the debris must be shook or "lightly" pounded out. PLEASE, PLEASE DON'T bang it against the side of the trash barrel....as I did .... it broke the hinge that holds the bottom lid on. Snapped it right off! had to go to their website and order a new one. Now I went to use it again ... and it's DEAD. The only thing that has happened since the last two weeks, is that my niece moved in and used it .... who the heck knows WHAT she did to it? She claims nothing, but then again, most of what she touches, breaks! I'll be going to the repair shop to check it ... it has no power, and NO visible means to account for it. Pray for me, because I really do LOVE this vacuum... flaws and all! I can only pray I can get it working again. ;( I also am ever hoping that Bissell will make changes based on reviews ... (I did let them know about my experience with it and my suggestions for improvement --- and actually got a personal reply, based on the suggestions and comments that I made -- not a form letter! GREAT for customer service!!)
