I sleep in a room with neon lights all around in this business area. The sun hits in the afternoon and makes the room unbearably hot at bedtime. These curtains blackout completely and stop the heat. The cold is hitting now and they stop it completely, too. We got them for all the bedrooms and couldn't be happier. We will be getting them for the living room as soon as we get the rods we need.
I got the burgundy, but they are more of a deep red which I really like. The definitely block 99% of the light and were wonderful to have while I lay in bed sleeping for 4 days with the flu!! They are very well made, nice and thick, heavy but not to heavy. I have them on a regular curtain rod.....They ARE longer than my window, but I am not hemming them, they just make the window appear larger and give great color to the room. And I tend to sleep with my window open, and they block that cool air very well, almost to well;-) I had a heck of a time picking curtains for my bedroom, and decided on these and I am very glad I did! Our bedroom faces the full afternoon sun and gets VERY hot, These are going to be great come summer.
I am very happy with these curtains! I purchased the chocolate color and they really do block out 99% of light. They look and hang great!
be aware that different colors block the sun at different levels. the chocolate curtains block it entirely, while the gold ones block most light. the fabric is soft, and in general i'm quite happy about these.
