Hoover F5914900 Clean Surge Carpet Steamer

I purchased this for a vacation/retirement home as I already have one for my home in California. Many years ago I purchased my own carpet cleaner on a TV sales channel and have been cleaning my own carpets for quite awhile. I just recently replaced my original carpet (after 20 years and 2 kids (now grown) and 3 cats), because I routinely cleaned the carpets (and they were a good quality originally) they lasted along time . I will also clean my new carpets routinely. The reason I purchased my cleaners (for 2 homes) and clean my own carpets is because in the past when I paid people to clean my carpets (and I used several different well-known companies) they were always in a hurry "to get in and out" in the least amount of time possible, and they wouldn't move furniture for a proper cleaning It was so much work for me to monitor them, and move my furniture and it seemed I was routinely disappointed. Now that I clean my own carpets, I can clean one room at a time and move the furniture and clean the room without furniture in it, wait for the room to dry properly and then replace the furniture and move on to the next room. I can also separately clean heavy traffic patterns routinely, keeping carpet fresh and dirt and odor-free. The vacation home has ugly sculptured berber carpet and I don't think prior owners ever cleaned the carpets because after cleaning each room 2 to 3 times, I finally was emptying barely dirty water from tank instead of almost black water from the first cleaning. After the 3rd cleaning I finally removed all the dog and cat residue and odors, and the home started smelling clean and fresh instead of full of odors. Best purchase ever!! I will always own my own carpet cleaner and do it myself. No more lugging heavy equipment from grocery store, calling people who do mediocre work, and being under alot of stress while they are in my home!!

For the cost you cannot beat this item. Has worked great on our carpets.

I love it. So far the hose and attachements work great. I cleaned our matteress, couch, and chair with great results. Looking forward to cleaning the stairs and rest of the carpets soon. Easy to assemble out of the box with clear instructions. Just what I was looking for!

This carpet cleaner is outstanding. It does a great job on both carpets and upholstery. It was one of the best ranked by a leading consumer magazine. I did my carpets when I got the machine and it brought up all of the spots my 3 year old left behind. I also did our couches and upholstery on the chairs in our dining area and they were all like new. The only negative is that some of the plastic feels cheap and the upholstery attachment is a bit awkward to figure out a first.
