I moved from Delaware that has humidity. Move to DFW Texas to find problems with low humidity. Was having dry skin, small rashes, and itched a lot. When we started using heater this got really bad. I always had a humidity gauge and it was at 20% in the house. Knowing this was to low I decided to buy this unit for its size and coverage. Had to run for three days on high to increase humidity and got reading of 48% (should be 40 to 60). I now run on low speed and will get over 24 hours out of one filling, this has been maintaining 48%. our skin conditions has gown away. This a great product and wish every one would buy a humidity gauge (9 bucks) and test your house.

    Got this for an efficiency apartment in Denver where the humidity is low, low, low. We get frequent respiratory problems if we donÂ’t keep some humidity in the air, but weÂ’re not real diligent about filling up the smaller units with water. This one will run for four (4) days on the lowest setting and keep our nose and throats away from that dry, scratchy feeling. The lowest setting is also uber quiet, so sleeping with it in the room is no problem. Finally, the water is held in two separate containers so filling and carrying the water back and forth to the unit doesnÂ’t require too strong an arm.

    I ordered this to replace a cool mist vaporizer that I must use every night because of breathing/sinus issues. So far-so good. It does use more water than I expected. The tanks are large so you don't have it fill it often.

  • Does this humidifier use paper-style wicks, or plastic ones. Our well water is heavily mineral-laden and anything other than paper "wicks" do not do well. Thanks, in advance.
