The Honeywell HUT200 CoolMist Filter-free Humidifier arrived in good time and in good condition. I got it set up and it is performing very well. I had no problems and am very pleased with this product. I am using distilled water as I have very hard water and distilled water was recommended in the case of hard water. I am adjusting the setting to "hold" the humidity at a level that seems to really help me with sinus problems that I have if the air is too dry. So far, I am VERY PLEASED with the Honeywell HUT200 CoolMist Filter-free Humidifier

FANTASTIC buy. This is a top fill humidifier... No more dripping water all over the floor, no more carrying heavy items and trying to fill them in bathroom sinks. This is the one to buy. You simply fill the water from the top and turn on the dial. The water circulates itself so no more stagnant water.... Just lots of fresh mist!

I thought this would work really well since it seemed pretty substantial and fool proof but lo and behold, after being stored in its original box over the summer/fall, I took it out to use in Winter 2012. Turned it on and nothing happened. Fortunately, I had purchased the Overstock platinum plan with this product and was able to buy a different humidifier.

I had a humidifier with a filter before this one and it would get so moldy and black, it was disgusting. I love the fact that there's no filter, you see the mist coming out of the machine and it's quiet.
I love it! The fact that you can pour water directly is fantastic. I just carry my brita filter. No taking the tank or flipping it upside down. I also think the design is quite sleek for a humidifier. The fact that the tank takes more water than I expected is an added bonus.
I was drawn to this humidified because you are able to pour water into the tank rather than lugging the tank to the sink. I love that feature and it did work well. Unfortunately the humidifier itself only lasted one month. Now it is making this horrid noise and nothing is coming out. The HUT200 had bad reviews on other websites, but had 4 starts at o.com so I decided to take a chance. What a mistake! Back to my quest for the perfect cool mist humidifier...

Overall, I like this humidifier. The reservoir is large - we only seem to have to fill it every 2nd or 3rd night, of course, that is dependant on actual conditions in your home and how humid you like your room. My only complaint is the blue operating light. It's a soft glow, but it's bright than I'd prefer to have in my room at night. For a child's room this nightlight feature might be OK, but I wish there was a way to turn it off. My boyfriend thinks it is too loud, but the noise didn't bother me much. I suppose this is a personal preference and depends on how heavy or light of a sleeper you are. I think it makes a soft humming noise that is fairly soothing. He is bothered by the noise of the water trickling through the unit. I'm happy with it though. Honeywell makes good products. I think the price was right and it does the job. Pros: large reservoir is easy to fill sleek design, doesn't take up too much floor space (important in a Manhattan apartment!) price Cons: Blue operating light is pretty bright Slightly louder than expected

This humidifier is whisper quiet, easy to fill, and and pretty. We compared many before we chose this one. The price was right and it is a welcome addition to our home. No more coughing in dry winter heated air. We are planning to purchase another one for upstairs.

The Honeywell Humidifier works very well. I purchased one from Sears a few months ago and they did not sell them any longer so I was able to pick up two more from Overstock. They arrived quickly and without any problems. These are great for a small to medium size bedrooms where there is extremely dry heat. My children sleep much more soundly with the use of these humidifier.

item works fine, but I didn't realize that cold steam doesn't work as well as hot. I've been using it anyway.

Love this humidifier. The best one yet I've had and recommended it to my son, who also got one. I may even get another if I have the opportunity! Definitely recommend using distilled water in it so not to get a mineral build up!

This is precisely what the doctor ordered. I have been to countless places, i.e. hotels, resorts, office buildings, etc. where the air was purified and I felt very good about it. Now I have that same air purification inside of my home. It's whisper-quiet, easy to clean, comes with a mineralizer, and easy to fill. What more would you ask for?

I just purchased 3 of these units for our bedrooms. They were very easy to set up and have already made a tremendous difference in our home. Colorado, although beautiful, is incredibly dry and I've been searching for effective units that were low maintenance and quiet. These fit the bill perfectly so far.

this is a great humidifier. its the perfect size and very easy to use. i love that i dont have to take anything a part to refill the well. you just simply pour water right into it. i would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a new humidifier!
Does its basic job very well. It blows ultrasonically-formed mist about two feet straight up in the air. You also have an option to direct the mist all the way down to 45 degrees from straight up, to have it blow into your face while you're sleeping, which might be something you want to do if you are in need of fairly high humidity (unfortunately, doing this will make your pillow and covers somewhat damp in the morning, meaning you'll need to turn up your electric blanket, or turn on a fan). It's not very convenient if you want in-between angles, (you have to turn the whole unit). However this is very rarely necessary. As I mentioned before you can direct the mist towards your face while you're sleeping, however you will certainly make your covers and pillow damp. Curiously I have had no problems with bad damp smells, probably because I use both an electric blanket and a fan to dry my bed in the morning. If you don't want that much humidity in your face you can just direct the most straight up, and it will not make your covers or pillow wet. If you have carpet in your bedroom however, it will almost certainly make that wet if you place the unit on the ground, or for that matter, anywhere, especially on the highest setting. It makes my wooden flooring wet even when placed a foot above ground on a upturned plastic box, so it would probably make carpet wet. My biggest issue is the amount of noise the water-pump on my unit makes. Having read other reviews, it seems that most people do not have this problem, or do not have a problem with that level of noise, with their units. The noise coming from my unit makes it completely unsuitable for light sleepers (if you do indeed choose to use the humidifier while you're sleeping). The noise level is that of 2 or 3 old desktop tower-PC cooling fans put together. Recently the fan has started making some noise as well, where it was silent before, after about two weeks of use. It probably adds another tower-pc cooling fan to the noise level. The trickling noise of water flowing over the top of the unit, is admittedly somewhat soothing, but with me, adds to the overall existing noise problem. That said, the relief that the unit has given to my dry nasal passage, mouth and it by eyes, has outweighed the noise problem. It has meant that despite the noise waking me up generally once a night I still sleep far more deeply than I did without the humidifier because of the increase in humidity. If you live in a noisy area, purchasing this unit might justify purchasing sleeping ear plugs, which would also completely neutralise the major con of this humidifier. Remember that all humidifiers need cleaning. I find this unit easy to clean; takes about 10-15 mins of work, if you're quick. Once every 7-10 days. Plus this thing has a demineralisation cartridge which needs replacing once every 20-30 fillings, or when white powder (minerals) starts building up around the base of the unit - not sure if other humidifiers have this same requirement, may be something you want to check up when comparing models. Also depends on how much minerals there are in your water supply. If you have a lot of minerals in your water you may need a distiller to supply the water for your humidifier which can cost $200 upwards. Though if you did have lots of minerals in your water you'd probably already have a distiller. Don't forget that if you're not in the US you might need a transformer to get this working! And if you buy the product, please please review it to let everyone else know about how it goes.
