My house is just over1000 sq feet and ranch style. I purchased this humidifier after the humidifier attached to my furnace quit working. I didn't want to spend alot of money because I eventually will have to replace the entire furnace. I was very happy that this portable one does a terrific job. I did a lot of research online and read lots of reviews and can say that this one truly delivers what they promised. Of course the only downside is that I have to fill the tank every 24 hours but that was expected in the cold, dry air of Western New York.

I generally like this item, but it could have been better engineered.PROS:. Large water reservoir is great.. Easy to use digital controls and readout.CONS:. Output is from the front of the unit and is uni-directional, making it inconvenient to control airflow direction. The large reservoir fills from the bottom, but the top is not flat due to the rounded carry handle,This makes filling the reservoir particularly unwieldly, especially since the bottom screw on cap is angled. Think of attempting to place an angled srew on cap on a heavy water filled jug with a rounded bottom! The humidity readout tends to read higher than the actual room humidity.The unit is noisy, especially noticeable as it cycles on and off. Don't try moving the unit when it's full of water. It comes apart VERY easily and there are no handles, grips or indentations to help.

great machine. works well with very large rooms. quiet and adjustable humidity settings.

I regret buying this humidifier. This is the worst one I have ever bought. It says QuietCare there is nothing quiet about it. Hard to sit in the same room with it. I had it in the livingroom and had to turn the T.V. up loud to hear it over the noise this humidifier makes....Don't buy it..It blows cold air so much that you can feel it down the hall way....I hate it...

I agree with what everyone said about this unit. The price is right, auto shutoff is great and lasts a couple of days on each tank of water. The bad is that the fan blows along the floor and causes a draft... we put it in a lesser used room to compensate. The tank is not flat on top so you cant rest it easily in your sink while filling.
