I really like this. Had a different one for about 10 years and it finally broke. This was a replacement for the bedroom and a little larger. Was a little louder, but I got used to it after one night and sleep with it on. Provides nice 'white noise,' which partially blocks out the outside sirens, etc. And I breathe easier also. Two pluses!

Bought this unit with the intention of letting it run on low pretty much all the time. Found the noise to be too loud, even on low. Have since put it aside and ended up buying a completely different air cleaner. :(

• Please tell us about the quality of the product. Programming seemed a bit complicated, unit is pretty loud.

I just received this item a few weeks ago but I am very pleased with it. Although it is not silently quiet I did not expect it to be. Air filters are not quiet machines overall. The noise is not terrible at all. Plus I enjoy a little white noise. Anyhow it gets the job done and it seems to be durable.

Quick delivery, product is very good and we like it very much,it is doing the job cleaning the air also it is quiet.

Have had this air filter about a month. It seems to be doing a good job. Not sure if I've noticed a real difference in my allergies, but I'm happy to have it. It is REALLY loud, though, even on low. If you want white noise in your bedroom at night, this is great. If not, put it somewhere else.

I went to Overstock.Com to purchase filters for my old Honeywell air cleaner, I found it was cheaper to by a brand new unit. I think the quality and value is excellent!!!

I have 2 older units already and purchased this one for my bedroom. It has a remote control and I mainly use it as white noise at night. Helps me sleep as it cleans the air. The replacement filters and hepafilter are hard to find and are spendy.

This unit was not labeled correctly by Overstock. They were very nice about it and are sending me a postage paid shipping label. This unit is NOT A PERMANENT HEPA FILTER as described. The HEPA Filter must be replaced every 1-3 years at an approx cost of $ 75.00! Honeywell does make a permanent filter model just like this one. (look it up on the Honeywell website for current model number). I have one and are very happy with it after three years. Good Luck!

It seems to work very well. Its my first HEPA filter so it seems loud to me but tolerable.

Limited features but does its job to say the least, that is to remove allergen and viruses from air. How effective? I don't know, I do notice fresher air smell in the morning. Very loud though, Can only fall asleep with it running on low.

I've only had this purifier for a few weeks but what a difference it has made. It's a great product, works well, easy to use --- and very effective.

I decided to try and treat my allergies wtihout having to take allergy medicine and eye drops every single day, so I started shopping around for air purifiers.After reading the reviews on this brand, and the great price on Overstock, I decided to get two of these for the areas of my house that I am in most of the time (my bedroom and my livingroom). I've had them for about 1-2 weeks, and they are working wonderfully. I can definitely notice a decrease in my allergies, and my home smells fresher. I also sleep better too!There are some downsides to this product. As the other reviews stated, it is loud. Even on the low setting it is not quiet like some other brand claim to be. That said, I think the "white noise" is helping me sleep. What I have been doing is setting it to run on high while I am not in that particular room, and then low during the hours that I am in that room. One of the nice features of this model is that you can program 2 seetings for different hours of the day, that way you can plug it in, set it and forget about it. The unit is pretty large as well. If you are looking for something sleek that won't be an eyesore in your room, then this one is not for you. Also there are future costs involved that I was not aware of upfront. There are 2 filters, a pre-filter, which is supposed to be replace every 1-3 months; and a hepa filter, which is supposed to be replaced every 1-3 years. The costs I am finding for these are: pre-filter about $10 each, hepa filter: about $60 each.Now, after using these purifiers for the last 1-2 weeks, I took the filter out and looked at it, and it is definitely catching dust, etc, so I know it is working well.I do not regret buying these air purifiers, but wish they were quieter, and wish I had known about the cost of the filters beforehand.

I bought 2 of these purifiers because a good friend recommended this purifier as being excellent, especially for people with allergies/asthma and for people having pets. I love these purifiers, as they do a great job for each room I have them in and OverStock.com had the absolute best price on them. I bought these 2 purifiers here for what you would pay for one at any other website/ store. The only thing, is that they are not as quiet as I had hoped, so I have to turn the TV volume up double as to what I would normally have it, and this is when the purifier is on the low setting. But, they do a great job in purifying the air, and that is what's most important!

The product was just as described. It emits not too loud a sound although I recommend you run it on med or high when not sleeping and then on low when sleeping. It seems to function well and is nicely designed and not too bulky. I am seriously considering buying another one.

I have suffered from sinus problems for years. This product has made an enormous difference. It does make some noise - sounds like an air conditioner, but it's worth it.

This Honeywell Air Purifer is just sensaltional. You see, for the past 2 weeks I have suffered with the worst allergies. I was unable to sleep at night, due to allergies running nose and alike. But I got this air purifer and I swear, I slept like a baby all night long, no allergy wake ups due the night. In my office, I sent around an e-mail about how wonderful this air purifer is, many have allergies too. I am ordering more for the house.

I was very pleased with this Overstock purchase. Great Air Purifier ... works well -- is a little noisy on the high setting -- but I use that when I'm out of the room during the day. I sleep with it on low and it doesn't bother me. The air is definately cleaner and better smelling when this is running.

I purchased this item about one month ago and started using it immediately. I live in Phoenix and suffer from dust & pollen allergies. This machine received strong ratings on most sites that I reviewed. My personal experience has not been very good. Many comments on how noisy this machine is are definitly true. However, the machine's I cannot substantiate the machine's effectiveness. My experiences with this piece of equipment have not been favorable. I use the honeywell 17005 HEPA filter in a 15 x 22 sqft. bedroom. I tried running it for a few hours with closed doors prior to entering the room to sleep. At first I kept the machine on while I tried to sleep. This did nothing to reduce my reaction to dust and pollen. The machine did succeed in further drying out the extremely dry Phoenix air. Then I tried running it for 6-7 hours prior to entering the room, then shutting it off prior to sleep. This did not work neither. The machine simply does nothing to reduce my allergies. Luckily the desert temperatures are lower now (december) and my allergies have subsided on their own. I will try further experimentation when my allergies kick in later this year. I am not going to hold my breath.
