Honeycomb Cell Light-filtering Pure White Cellular Shades (34 x 60)

Maybe I misunderstood what these were for, but I was hoping for some subtle darkening. I guess they defused the light, but the room was just as bright as without them plus the shades were almost glowing in the light. They're very nice shades and appear to be easy to hang. The hardware is on the top of the shade, so the entire shade is exactly 34" across. I returned them and got the black-out version of the same shade.

The shades came in their packages taped together, bound with sturdy cardboard corners, and plastic webbing. Inside the boxes, the shades were shrink wrapped, and the edges were covered with styrofoam. The mounting hardware was boxed and complete. The directions were in English and only English. They were not translated and hard to read. A way they could be improved is to add a tools/materials list, so you know what kind of screwdriver you need, etc. and don't have to figure it out as you go. Installation was easy. I made a paper template by tracing the mounting bracket and taped it to the window frame in the right places, then drilled pilot holes and screwed in the brackets. The shades snapped right into them. They hang straight and operate easily. I could not be happier.

I am almost done putting these shades in all of my windows. I don't like the sun in my face while cooking and eating or on the tv screen, but I do not like a dark room either. I have been buying the light filtering shades and find that they keep the hot summer heat out as well. I am eager to see how well they work at keeping the winter breezes out! These are easy to install (for my husband - LOL) easy to use and peasant to the eye. All they way up, they are completely out of sight behind my curtains.

I bought these shades for a spare bedroom not knowing if i would like them for my room. I reviewed many websites as well as pricing them a various brick and motar stores. Prices were 25- 50% lower at Overstock than anywhere else. I was delighted when they arrived and my husband hung them. They were exactly what I wanted. Easy to hang and easy to operate. I will be purchasing more for my bedroom.
