  • Terrific furniture, very hard to assemble

    The hall stand sits in the entryway of my 100+ year old house and everyone who comes in comments on the beauty of the furniture and the way it just fits in the decor. The only problem with it is that it is one of the hardest to assemble KD pieces I've ever bought. I had a contractor working in the house when it arrived and I had him assemble it when I saw how hard it was going to be. It took his carpenter about 6 hours to put it together. On the other hand, it is a wonderful piece and I am proud to display and use it. So, knowing what I now know, I'd still have bought it.

  • What is the width on the bottom of the hall tree, by the legs? Is it more narrow than where the widest part of the bench and top trim are? My hallway has base boards that allow for 39 1/2 inches. The top will allow for 43".
