I don't know what the heck possessed me to purchase a bedroom set from Overstock, let alone a bedroom set with no product reviews. I was looking for something similar to this set in the local furniture stores but couldn't really find anything I liked. When I saw this I thought I'd give it a try figuring if I didn't like it I could just put it in the guest room or split up the pieces. The product ships in 5 boxes and I chose to tackle putting together the nightstand first. Once I realized how all of the pieces fit together, it was pretty simple to do. I did the dresser second, and I would recommend doing the nightstand first because there are a lot more pieces to the dresser and if you understand how the first one went together it was definitely easier for the larger piece. I would definitely recommend using a battery operated drill too because there are alot of pieces that will go together quicker than if you use a regular phillips head screwdriver. The directions were really simple to follow and every piece fit together perfectly...there was no second guessing where things go, all of the parts were clearly labeled including each individual bag of hardware, and they give you one extra piece of hardware too, which is nice. Once I got everything together I was not only happy with the look, but also with the sturdiness and quality of the product. Listen, it's not handcrafted furniture and it's not Pottery Barn stuff that costs thousands of dollars, but after searching through tons of different furniture stores I found these pieces to be comparable to the middle of the road stores around here. When you go to their showrooms, don't be fooled by the nicely put together tables, beds. coffee tables, etc...because when you buy them and pick them up at the warehouse they come in boxes and need to be put together too! This set has a "cam lock" system for the dresser and night stand, which really cinches the pieces together well and leaves them really sturdy with no wobbles. I got the impression that if they're taken care of they will last for years without developing that weird wobble that cheap furniture tends to get after a couple years of regular use. Anyhow, the set looks exactly like it does in the photo, and if you like a low footboard this is a great set for you because not too many sets have a 52" headboard with such a low footboard...looks sharp. My ONE complaint about the whole set is that the dresser is definitely a little smaller than I would have liked. I wish it was a little deeper as I feel the drawers are a little narrow...they're plenty deep and plenty wide, but when you've got Tshirts folded up they need to be turned sideways instead of facing you. Not a big deal, because you can still put two stacks of them next to each other, but you'll definitely notice how not-deep the drawers are. Got what I expected though and I'm pretty happy with it.
