High-back Leather Side Chair (Set of 2)

I purchased this set of (2) chairs to add to my existing dining set of only 6 chairs. I am very happy with this purchase and the quality of the chairs for the price! I love it!

I love overstock, have been delighted with purchases before. I got the chairs and was disappointed that one had nicks on one leg, but thought, oh well, I'll just put a little stain on it. I put this chair together without too much problem, although it wasn't the easiest and took quite a while to get the holes to line up properly. It looked fine with a little touch up on the nicks. I put off putting the second one together. Big mistake.I tried putting it together yesterday and this second chair was totally defective. The holes are way way off and it was clear that someone had already tried to make this chair work by drilling more, had given up, and had returned the item. Overstock sent it to me! Quite the bummer. Don't know that I will take the time and expense to try to return this chair. When you buy a set, how does overstock handle that?

I read the previous reviews about assembly and became nervous. I borrow my friends' drill because I don't have a hubs to help me put stuff together.It took me less than an hour to put both chairs together. I am using them as a desk chair instead of a dining chair. They look so pretty in my home office.The comfort of the pad increases over time. At first it was very stiff and uncomfortable to sit in, but within 3 days, it is much more comfy to sit.I wish I needed more chairs, because I would definitely buy more of these.

These chairs are beautiful, well made and overall a great value so I found that it was well worth the effort to put them together. What other reviewers are saying is true, they are somewhat tricky because the predrilled holes don't necessarily line up. I bought two sets (4 chairs) and had particular trouble with one, so I tried to line up that one seat with all the backs until I found one that worked the best and I was able to force it in. Once the screw went in it was no problem to finish it and now I can;t even tell which one was "the problematic" chair. The hole in the chair's back has metal threads in it so I don't think you would want to make a new such hole - unless you know how to insert those metal threads. But if I wasn;t able to finally line up the holes, I would just expand the first wooden hole (the screw goes through one wooden large hole and then into the hole with metal threads) so that I could better angle the screw into the position. To describe the rest of the chair...it is a very nice red color, not too bright, not too dark, just like on the picture (but I guess everybody's monitor is different). The leather seems very nice. I'v eonly had them for a month now, but I seems they are very sturdy and would last a long time. The legs are especially nice espresso color and sturdy. I saw some other similar chairs on this website that weemed to have very thin legs, but these are just perfect. Overall I cannot believe that I was able to get such great chairs at such amazing price. I was considering getting similar chairs at a high end furniture store (for 4 times the price), but I am glad I went with these.

I could not believe such simple chairs could require so much of time to assemble. The reason: the horrible mis-alignment of the holes for the seat to the back for one of the chairs. It is just simply unimaginable that such a product can pass the quality and assurance process. The other chair has one of the legs misaligned no matter how much you try to balance at the end.I guess I can't expect more for such cheap priced chairs.
